I might as well get a pack of those too just in case.

It's strange that the the front and rear have different diameter lug holes

4 years after selling my 6 spd 2017 TRD OR I'm finally back in another manual Taco

I still have my TE37X 16x9 0mm offset from my old Taco. Anyone here knows if I can wrap them with Falken A-T3W 285/75R16 and run them on the stock 2022 TRD PRO suspension without rubbing??

Pics of new girlfriend with stock wheels/tires..

285s on stock suspension is highly questionable - especially the upper control arms, cab mount and front fender edge. 275 is the safest bet with stock suspension.

    Yeah I have 275 KO2s on the TE37X still. I know that didn't rub on my 2017 Taco. But I wanna give A-T3W a try there's no 275 A-T3W..

Not trying to steer your decision, but have you looked at the Toyo AT3s? Just put those in 275s on mine and so far so good - I like em.

Its strange to say the least. Its like the rear hub has a different design than the front (I was able to poke the threaded part of the 610-463 through the hub opening, but that smooth part would not go through whatsoever and I wasn't about to ruin a hub. I compared the front OEM stud vs rear OEM stud and could not see any visual differences.

I researched on the subject of bolt and nut safety, looks like the agreed safe threaded engagement should be equal or greater than the diameter of the bolt.

So, on the Tacoma/4Runner or any Toyota using M12x1.5

1.5mm is the distance between each thread, and m12 is the diameter of 12mm of the bolt

so we need minimum 12mm of thread engagement, and that math 12mm / 1.5mm = 8 turns.

We'll see, if I can get the rear lug nuts to have 8 turns I'll call it good and leave it alone if that's too much hassle.

I just measured turns on the Dorman 462 and got 9.5 turns with hand tightening before torquing.

Here is a comparison of the stock OEM wheel stud vs the Dorman 463

This shows the number of thread engagement of OEM (6) vs Dorman 463 (13)

Dorman 463 installed on front hubs (smooth part gets buried with the wheels set in place)

    For 16" wheel? I don't see 16" 275 options for AT3 on Tire Rack.

I did a quick search but didn’t see it..

anyone got bronze TE37x (16” -20) on a Cement taco? Bonus for lifted, and 285/75-16 STT Pro or even better, Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires?

when I was certified through TIA (https://www.tireindustry.org/) the industry standard minimum was 1/2 the diameter of the stud for engagement depth.

I got the thread engagement >= bolt diameter recommendation from generic engineering rule of thumb here

Maybe half the diameter (4 turns) is THE absolute minimum. That explains why those who run TE37s on stock studs can get by with 5.5 turns.

I got curious and went ahead and measured the washer-style OEM lug nuts on OEM TRD Off Road wheels on stock studs on the front axle.

Turned out the Toyota OEM lug nuts can get 12 turns. That's VERY safe and probably an overkill but understandably consistent with Toyota's conservative design language.

Those studs from wheel adapter have been verified they will fit front and back with no issues?

Well, being the heaviest frontside with the engine weight + steering is complete, I can feel a little more at ease driving now that the Dorman 463s are installed in the front. Understandable that Toyota engineers 12 turns as they know people can be rough on trails, especially with their frame on body models they sell.

I have read in another post that they do, so I'll roll the dice and take my chances. From the looks, they don't have the smooth shank which got in the way on the rear hubs so these look like a good bet. There is also this brand, Ichiba that was mentioned in another thread as well:

Also do not forget about your spare tire in case of an emergency. The spare is a steel wheel without the oversized opening, so that right there saves some depth. Just got back from the yard after doing research of which Toyota lugs are long from the factory. Came up with 4Runner so pulled a few off this 2001. Tacoma inside lugnet depth = 1 7/16", 4Runner = 1 7/8". I'll carry these lugs under the seat in case I ever have to use the spare.

but isn't your spare steel wheel mounted with stock size tire? I thought you upsized the tires on those 18" Gram Lights all 4 corners

Yeah, I did - 275/65/18s. Guess the truck will be leaning on one corner if I ever have a blowout just to get me home or to a tire shop.

Copped these last week and just got my tracking. Already have them on order with Showstoppers (since August 2021) but they keep not getting them and I'm tired of waiting. Hope they are the correct ones. I've been able to find the 12x1.25 ones in stock but this is the first I've seen in 12x1.50 in stock since I got my truck. Will test the threads on my spare studs before zipping em onto the truck.
