I live in a criminal friendly state and a criminal friendly city. I got the shield and sleep better. Buddy and I caught someone stealing a cat in our work parking lot. Police rolled up, took the cat from the thief and then just let him go. No charges. No arrest. Nothing. Dude was literally still under the car making the cut. Mind boggling.

Same, I park in a garage and still lock my truck.

also, when at work I park with one side of my truck next to a curb and the front of my truck against a curb. Just reduced the sides someone could get under the truck.

Only the reason people steal the “cats” is because there are buyers! ( the recycling shops)…..they know it was stolen !
Takes two groups to make it work, sellers and buyers. So much money to be made. Oops …
The third party buyer are the companies that buy from the recycling shops. It takes 3 parties ,Oops
The four group is buyers who buys the material after they are separated. And use theses materials.

Most criminals face NO bails, little jail time. Once. Out there is money to be made … the recycle starts again…lol

Police on the take? Their guy got caught and they had to make it look official. Or is it a misdemeanor in WA?

But really, the owner could have made a citizen’s arrest and the cops would have had to do more- at least in my “criminal friendly” state that works if the theft is felony grand theft ($950 or more).

Yep, Starting to read about those people getting caught and just let go…. Yet the cops gives us tickets to fund the State funds. Which provide police officers pay checks.
Why can’t they give them thieves tickets too? Plus they get free housing ,medical, three meals a day, laundry service, & is provide with lots of close friends.

A nice thought, but can work two ways, against the innocent. Will car manufacturers produce shields for there future vehicles? I have not seen any reports?

My county just made it a $1000 fine + 6 months jail for anyone caught with a cat they can’t show proof of ownership for (or some valid reason for having it). The county no longer has to prove they stole it anymore, the burden of proof has now been put on the shitheads to prove they have a reason to possess it. If not, automatic conviction.

We need more realistic laws that focuses on this problem. Maybe even a bigger $$$$ fines.

I have no stats, but I would guess there are a lot more cats stolen off the V6 (Because there's a lot more V6 Tacos than the I4's..) .... And because I own an I4, I've yet to find a mfg. that's makes a 'cat cage' for one. Thankfully, I live in the middle of nowhere, so I have no worries..
