I love the stark contrast between red trucks and most backgrounds. Btw is your hood closed fully?

I also paid a ($500) deposit in February for a special request, and mine was actually nonrefundable unless Toyota failed to allocate my particular truck to that dealer for 2022 MY. At the time I was advised to expect a wait of 4-6 months and I didn't fully understand how different and random Toyota's production/allocation system was from other manufacturers who are willing to build customized vehicles to order. Only later did I realize that I needed to broaden my search dramatically but the other dealers did not ask me for deposits just to be on a waiting list. In the end I bought my Tacoma from the first dealer (via a swap) so the deposit was applied towards my purchase, but I was willing to eat that cost if I had found a truck to my liking at another MSRP dealer.

The vehicle spreadsheet is updated daily around 730-8 am Eastern. I don't know if the software is programmed to display 2023 model year vehicles or not, but you can still use it to find in-transit/in-stock 2022s (post-production, not allocations).

LOL no it wasn't. I was going to look at the engine and popped the release and then decided to take the pic first. I closed it later. Good catch!!

Can anyone tell me once a build date has been established how long does it actually take for the truck to be built?

While I cannot give you a specific time for the Tacoma, virtually every mass producer of vehicles world-wide finishes a vehicle in under 24 hours; most are well under 20 hours.

Curious what anyone on the inside has in terms of the real take on this. From what I’ve picked up on various posts is the factory assembly is rather quick and the build date is more a projected completion date and why the permanent VIN gets assigned then.

That’s purely my conjecture reading stuff from strangers on the internet though.

Very nice. Just could barely afford my "Work Truck White" TRD Sport. Never mind 2 Pros. However, enjoy!
