    You know.....

put the spare in the bed couple years ago in prep for Fluid Filming. Been there since, keeping clean & accessible.
Swapped tires & rims couple weeks back, different size, swapped the spare (into the bed) to match current tire size.
Going to get the truck Wool Waxed next week. Spare is all out of the way.

So, this week I find a piece of furniture on C'list. Free. Twin to the piece I've been trying to get from Mom for 10 years.
Usual C'list challenges, but made it happen. Going to get it today.
It's going to require an hour drive to get a helper, 30 minutes to the piece, an hour home to 'deliver it', hour to drop off friend, hour back home.
Yes, I really want this piece. But I'm not comfy doing all that driving without a spare. A-yup!
Had to take the spare out of the bed & hang it under the truck. So I can drop it for WoolWaxing next week. :goingcrazy:
Can't believe I have to put it in the way 1 week before, after 3(?) years out of the way.
Well - I know the spare tire reel works.
well - I know the 17" tires fit under the truck.

Anyone know - do spares usually get all stupid going up?
I figured balanced tire, it would raise flat, but no - it tried really hard to stand up. I had to flatten it with my feet while cranking over my head to get it to seat tidy. That normal or does my spare need serious balancing? (The disc thingy was centered in the tire rim hole.)
    :notsure:

Yeah, I thought that price would get your attention!!!

And as far as your spare, I don't recall raising it being an issue

Not sure when I'll get the bracket, I may have to make one. I also have to source some 3/4" PCV vent hose and elbows or something similar so I can connect the pump to the valve. The factory hose won't work and it's cracked/hard.
I'll have to go out to the truck with a ruler and take some measurements. I also have to lengthen the wires for the pump but that's the easy part.

Happy Sunday. To rain or not to rain - the sky cannot decide.

Taco performed flawlessly yesterday. 4 or 5 hours running forth & forth & back & forth & back. Somewhere between 1/4 & 1/2 tank of fuel used, a/c worked through it all. Step side bed was about 1.5" too narrow, but I'd installed the bed bars (Just in case!) & they worked out perfectly.

Job done. In a 20-year-old, 214k mile truck. Nice. :benchpress:

Going out in a bit to do some stuff on the truck and later I need to help a friend do brakes on his SUV. He's paying me just to supervise.

Cool. I grew up in Watertown, by my grandparents lived on Soucy Road. Looking at it on Google Maps, there are way more houses around it now.

A lot of houses have gone up around there. There’s still Logue Farm down the street a bit though.

I don't remember Logue Farm, but I am sure it was there when I was a kid. I left CT in 1980 when I was 10 years old...moved to Phoenix because my mom was tired of the cold.

Did nothing on the truck today, just stuff around the house. Helped a friend do his brakes and he had the R/R done, went to do the L/R and he broke a caliper bolt and called me. I helped him with the remaining three brakes and he said we did the three in the same amount of time that he did one.
Work is planned on the truck this week, bunch of little stuff.
