Looking for some ideas, I have two car seats in the back now and my under seat storage is fairly inconvenient to access now. I don't want to get one of the swing out boxes that mount in the bed as I don't want to loose the space but I do that a EVOa cap with the Molle sides panels. I want a good way to store things that I would normally keep under the seats. (Ratchet straps, jumper cables, bungies etc.) *Not looking to store the jack and accessories there*. But all of the Molle pouchs I am coming across are small and I would end up need several to store all of the items. I would like one large, ideally mesh/see through with a side zipper that I could store several or all of the same items in the same pouch.

Or any other ideas or solutions that you may have come up with.

I used Quick Fists to hold larger items, such as my axe, shovel, road flares, etc. I used 1" nylon webbing with buckles to strap in larger items such as my trauma kit and first aid kits. I also used Hawk sportsmans rubber wire to strap/tie in odd shaped items.

    Straps and buckles:

I’m thinking of having a chase light (mostly for blizzards here) on the rack but only have cross bars. It would have to be mounted in the smartcap channels. But I’m not sure how to run the wiring for those lights.
    Any ideas? Solutions?
Don’t want to run between back window and cap

What do you use to mount the quick fist onto your panels? Did you drill holes?

Use magnets if it’s temporary. I use a magnetic mount for my Weboost antenna so I can remove it when I’m not on a trip.

Zip ties through the holes in the quick fists, 2 for each quick fist.

Is there a hack to sleep inside and be able to open the doors?

    Hey TW, first time post.

Really interested in the smartcap for lots of reasons listed in the above 142 pages...

However I’m having a hard time dropping $4g on something I’ve never seen in person.

None of the local dealers have one in their ‘showroom’

Wondering if there is a smartcap owner in the greater Seattle area that would be willing to show me their setup?

RSI is reworking their locks to be water tight (which is currently an issue) and be able to open from the inside.

Their date on delivery keeps getting pushed back, originally going to be Jan 22'. If you send them a warranty claim they'll add you to their list of people for locks.

I usually send them an email every couple months asking for an update but haven't done so lately.

@Mike's Custom Toys can confirm their existence. I believe they posted a while back that they've seen the locks in person.

Also haven't gotten a solid answer from RSI or any dealer if current owners of the cap will need to purchase them or not. I personally expect to have to pay for them.

Edit: Figured since I was thinking about it I would send them an email asking for an update. Dont expect to hear back until Mon though. Ill make a post when I hear something.

I open the locks and "lock them." You can still close the flaps and push them open from the inside. This will prevent a drunk friend from locking you in as a joke. If necessary, a Philips screwdriver and flashlight will let you undo the latches inside the cap. Or weld a "wing nut" to the screw head so you can remove it by hand.

Since it is magnetic, a simple board (1/2" x 1") with super magnets lets me roll up the bug screen and cover the opening.

Ripcord on the bottom of the panel and tied off inside on a tie down let me "lower, but not fully close" the flaps for ventilation and light rain. Heavy rain gets wet back there!

Bug screen overpass through window allows ventilation.

6' bed, so at 6'3", I need to sleep on a diagonal. OK, for my dog and me.

The new locks should be available next month. I have to go to the factory in a couple weeks and will find out the plan for getting them out to existing customers. However make sure to add your name to the list requesting them.

cool thanks. I don’t have one but am thinking I want one. I think it would be perfect to stealth Winter camp at ski areas. :)

I received this reply from RSI this morning regarding an update on the locks.

"Thanks for checking in. I follow up weekly with the Exec team for an ETA and cost for these locks but haven't received anything useful to share as yet. Your detail is on my list and as soon as I have something that is set in stone I will reach back out to you."
