I don't think there is much interest in electric pick up trucks.

I did see about 10 different Ford Lightnings on the road last week, but that was like 10 out of the million other F-150s I saw on the road.

Well, I guess we have all of the data. Ford only made 10 Lightnings. We have all of the proof.

I don't go out at night if I don't have to, and I usually don't have to. I get up at 04:30, more auto collisions occur at night. I don't like driving at non rush hour, no body is in hurry to get anywhere, driving on the weekend is the worst.

That’s not surprising at all seeing as the total Lightning production for 2022 will be about 15000 trucks compared to about 750,000 standard F150s. Ford has as many reservations placed for the Lightning as Toyota sells Tacomas annual. Not exactly no demand, just a first year limited run production line.

Other than fleet sales, I see the appeal of an BE F-150 waning for the general public. That's before price increases become a factor.

Ford doesn’t and they’ve spent a whole lot of time and money studying the market.

There are a lot of people that don't now it exists.

Unless the customer wants to pay the premium for the Lightning, why wouldn't they buy a conventional F-150?

Ford could capture 1st time truck buyers coming from Tesla, or Rivian customers who get tired of waiting for their R1T, and realize that a $100,000 car from a boutique auto manufacturer isn't the best financial decision.

And electricity will work under the same laws of supply and demand as petroleum. Once everyone switches over, we will be at the mercy of the same greedy people. I’m switching over to a coal fired steam engine and everyone can kiss my arse.

Were the Rivians set up for Overlanding? I would walk right by a stock Tacoma at an Overlanding Expo.

He trolls TW EV threads with incorrect info and guessing. It's worth it to use the ignore button on him.

So my neighbor had a Hyundai genesis that was loaded and cost near $52k. He bought a 2013 Model S for $50k to go the same mileage. He compared his gas costs to electric costs to fo the same mileage. He's an accountant s o he likes to do this comparison stuff. He calculated his electric cost to go the the same distance was 48% less than what he was spending in gas.

Box stock from what I could tell. No clue why anyone bothered bringing them.

Ah yes, from the golf course to the mall can be rather daunting.

They did the Trans America Trail with a couple of Rivians. More overlanding than most Tacomas on this website will ever do.

A few years back Grand Cherokee commercials use to state their 500 mile range.
Also in regards to this “limited” conversation, anyone who knows the slightest bit about vehicles knows that limited refers to top of the line trim and has nothing to do with range.

Why did they do the Overlanding Expo at the mall?
