Yeah I've never fully understood how they do the town's census with the University, to be honest. Like, is that 35K during the summer and it's permanent residents? Or is it 35K during the school year and dips down to 20K or less during the summer? I should ask the Mayor or city administrator next time I see one of them

Kind of, my wife's company has offices all over the east coast. Fingers crossed though a promotion/raise goes through soon and I can actually afford more than my 1 bed 1.5ba 1 car condo haha (which I bought for 195 and is probably worth about 225 right now)

And for reference, like 70% of the county population is in Pullman:

On a more motorcycle note, after 3 years my klim dakar pro gloves have a hole in them, and re-stitching it seems close to impossible so i'm looking at new options. Anyone have the inversion pro's? Seems like it could be a good option for fall/some winter/spring for me.

Oh yeah, here is the final track from my ride today. Bike shows exactly 101mi from leaving the gas station when I started the track to getting home so it was about 15mi across the water I guess? It was a good time, now I need to find some more rides that are worth taking like that. And maybe get some gold gel and a seat concepts cover for my seat.

On another note, the only way to ride the ferries here is on a bike, get to skip past hour+ long lines and head straight to the front plus it costs 1/4 the price of taking a car on.

I think they count students here that use the address as their main residence here in town. So we count some and don’t count others. I don’t think many of the Haskel students get counted.

Douglas county has 120k people, but just Lawrence has 95k of those. With students all counted I think we are around 110k. It’s a big town for Kansas, but it’s no city. You could find acres and a house like that around Lawrence for about that price, but that sqft in my neighborhood would run 850k this year. It’s a nice big small town.

When I lived in Washington I would enjoy this trip a couple times every summer. I liked the Freeland cafe (on Whidbey) for breakfast or early lunch and would go to Hurricane Ridge on the OP as my turn around point.

i also liked just riding across in Mukilteo and then riding Whidbey through Deception and then back south on the 5.

You should take 9 up to Conway, cut across Fir Island to Anacortes-ish (rockfish grill for lunch?) then come back along fidalgo, deception pass, oak harbor, whidbey, etc. I grew up in Mount Vernon, parents live out there still.

    That would make sense.

    None... yet.
I've always found it odd/funny that our Lowe's and HD in town are just a stone's throw from each other. I do gravitate more towards HD as they are usually less crowded and the staff seems more helpful...
