Those carbs are so simple. Take it apart and clean the gunk out and I bet it runs just fine.

Best part about carb engines. They were easy to clean

I’ve done plugs, wires, coils, points, and condensers on this one, and had the carb off a few times. Maybe the next time will be the charm!

I just sold my boat this past spring. It had a very old Evinrude on it. 18h that ran like a top.

I always did those band adjustments by feel.
Always increased the line pressure and sometimes would replace the accumulator spring
    with a lighter one.
Would always have one or two apart on my bench while doing rear ends.

What about the fuel tank? Those portables always accumulate water...as well as dirt .

Drain the tank, new gas and a filter. Report back with results.

No Will, there is an adjustment on the outside of the case. He said it drove fine all the way home. Woohoo.
He said it did still have a shimmy in the front end and we know that's because of the brand new tires that sat in one spot for the last 6 years...and somewhat low on air too...and half the tread in the dirt.
$1,500 for the truck, close to 1000 rebuilding the transmission, 90 for fuel pump, maybe 200 in suspension and alternator. Not terribly bad price in today's vehicle market. It still needs some $$ thrown at it but for now it will haul supplies back n forth from the lumber yard.

I had six quarts of the exact Mopar fluid..the rest we used ATF+4 WALMART brand:anonymous:
I had the six quarts left over from when changing the fluid and filter in my Jeep.
It took over 10 quarts, between 10-11 anyway but we used the air hose and emptied the cooler too.
And correct it said right on the dipstick check in neutral and idle.

We mustve gotten 6 inches of rain over the weekend, I got my camp all mowed and spent today sealing a couple leaks I noticed. Ready for it to cool off sheesh...

Big day tomorrow fellas. Launch day. 0833 window opens, 2 hour window. 0315 report time, brass is advising us to give yourself 2 hours to deal with traffic to get to work. Usually takes me 25 mins. Im gonna go in super early just try and nap before my report time.

Send some of that rain to here in South Central PA! It's pretty darn dry with not much relief in sight. Hell, it's so dry I don't even have to weed-eat the leach field. That's all I've really needed to do in the past couple weeks, but not now... :anonymous:

Tank was dry and clean before I filled it with fresh gas and oil this morning, about an hour before we went out. Not my first rodeo with these old 2 strokes.
I should note that I did get the boat up to 21 mph with 3 people, battery, tackle box, kicker motor, anchor, cooler and clothes bag.
the main issue I’m having is surging and falling on its face at wot, and not idling down as low as it should which makes headway speed a slight challenge. I’m sure it’s in the fine tuning, but what’s weird about this motor is it only has a low speed external adjustment, not a low and high like the ol 28 which makes it a little more challenging.

Goodmorning crew. Not sure what I'll do today, but one possibility is rotation of a couple vehicles tires.
I rotated the Impala's tires yesterday afternoon and noticed uneven wear on front right. Waited too long, and it could use alignment.
The Jeep and my Tacoma could use it. Need to muster up some strength to do the Jeep tires:anonymous:
I've been letting my daughter drive my Impala back and forth to work and driving my Tacoma.
We find out tomorrow if another car joins the rest in the driveway. My wife put a sealed bid on a 2012 Chevy Malibu with 67k miles. She said we got the winning bid but I'm wondering if they will not let it go for so cheap. I told her bid $5,001.00 but she bid $4,567.00
It will be close to stealing it at that price. County vehicle.
