I’ve got a 2019 OR DCLB I use as a daily driver. I’ve added about 600lbs to the bed with a build out and anticipate another 200 when fully loaded for a trip. It’s down to about 1.5” from bump to frame and I’m looking to get that back to stock height or even a 1.5” overall lift. I’ve been quoted the Icon RXT and the Dakar packs. I’ve got a 1500$ budget to work with. I want to get rid of the trash stock leaf pack. Any input is helpful.

Should be doable for less than a grand. @memario1214 hook the man up.

I vote RXT, just replaced my Dakars on my truck a few months back. That'll be just a bit over half your budget.

$1,500 budget? Deaver without a doubt. Dakars are trash in general, and icons are better geared for lighter weight. I've run both through varying amounts of weight. I currently have the icons on option 2 with ~200 lbs in the bed and am very pleased.

Anything is better than stock with that load. I run Icons and have been pleased.

So seems like Deaver are the end all be all however they come with a steep price tag. Those of you on team icon, I’m always at the beach going to be in sand and around salt water. I try to get the truck washed every couple weeks. I’ve heard icons tend to squeak, any of you notice anything?

I think that Icon RXTs or Deavers would both solve the issue you're dealing with swimmingly. Of course I'll let everyone pop in with their personal experiences, but we sell a lot of RXTs here, and haven't had anyone return with feedback that said anything along the lines of "I'm not happy". Even with heavy loads.

For your $1,500 budget you could have leaf packs, a U-Bolt flip, new bump stops, AND new shocks! You have plenty of headroom to work with.

As for the squeaking we have a surefire method that we call the bicycle tire method and those that have used it have enjoyed 100% success in silencing squeaks. Head on down to Walmart and pick up a bicycle inner-tube. Cut it into small strips (a few inches long). Lift the truck and then use a prybar to separate the leafs. Use a brush to clean up the area, and then USE PLIERS to put a small strip of the bicycle tire rubber where you can see that the leafs are making contact.

We just got a fresh restock of RXT packs last week as well if you decide to go that route and we can help you out  https://hotshotoffroad.com/products/rxt-leaf-pack-05-22-tacoma

IMO Icon option 2 excellent for me. Either way Icon , Deaver you can’t go wrong. From the looks of your weight I would run Rxt on option 3

Dakars are fine if you can silence the squeak. Dorman leaf spring inserts will do that.

I'm running Icon RXT in Option 2 with RTT, tonneau, bed rack:

    - fully loaded, it sits pretty evenly
    - with aggressive acceleration, the rear sags, and the front of the truck gets super light and squirrely - not good

For a while I had the RTT + bed rack off the back and the truck handled WAY better. I'm thinking Option 3 with this config would be a lot better

With that budget you could do Icon RXT on option 2 or 3, u-bolt flip, bump stops, and some Bilstein 5160 shocks. I have the back of my long bed built out with a sleeping platform and drawers made with 3/4" plywood and a bunch of tools and camping gear and option 2 is great.

Like others have said, the other option is Deavers. But, I like the different settings you get with the Icons in case you want to add more weight later..

Don't dakars not play well with the oem rear shackle. I remember reading something about leaves made for the hilux not liking tacoma shackles.

Deavers or bust. Everyone I know has gone through Dakars or RXT first and ended up with Deavers. I'm running Stage 2 Deavers with an RSI cap and clamshell RTT and no sag. Friends with HC rear bumper w/ swing out run stage 3 springs.
