I have not been interested in 1/64 scale but I really wanted this one and missed it

I got one. I think they might release other colors eventually. I'm trying to push them to make a 4th gen 4runner and a xrunner.

 

Auto World 1/64 Baja bug. This one’s an actual slot car. Very detailed bug. Another one for the Baja collection.

 

I have few of the original Johnny Lightning thunder jets Baja bugs. The bodies come off and snap on the old Aurora and AFX slot cars.

 

These also roll forward when you pull them back.

 

A few of my so - so cars. The 40 Ford is a 1/24 die cast I bought at Canfield recently thinking I could turn it into a Gasser for $18. It was a release available through Carquest and is nicely detailed but impossible to dismantle with out damaging it. Ill have to leave it as is.
The flat blue Chevy II wagon is a Hot Wheels Gasser with decals removed and a wheel swap. Hot Wheels flat colors dont hold up to lacquer thinner as well so this one wound up with a worn look to it which wasn't what I wanted.
The 55 Chevy Gasser had a repaint and wheel swap but has poor fit issues with the body being slightly bent and then the chrome paint I was using for the engine would only spray a dull silver. Time for a new can.
I posted these because not everything I do comes out as expected.

Random but maybe yall will be into this.. Im in the beginning stages of building a 1/64 scale replica of the TypeOne garage in Tokyo. Ive started the mock up in cardboard to get an idea of what supplies I will need but the plan is the building to be in 3 pieces so you can remove roof, 2nd floor so you can see both levels. It will have all the lifts, tool boxes cars stairs just like the real thing. Or well, as close to the real thing as I can make without visiting. Sooo if any of yall happen to live or visit Tokyo.. LOL I am a LONG way from finishing. Will probably take a year or longer.

 

One of the neatest things about this forum is the diversity of the things that interest each of us. I enjoy seeing what other people are doing and collect.
What lowwliifeHb is attempting to do is make a diorama. I did the same thing 10+ years ago creating a junk yard on a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood that I actually made into a table. I wish I had taken pictures of it before I sold it. It had outbuildings, trees, a small creek through it and a popsicle fence around the outer edges of it. I used sand as the base and spray painted it brown. It made it easy to create tire tracks where I wanted them. There were 20-25 junk yard cars in it that were kits I had built over the years and screwed up. They were all weathered and wreaked with a heat gun.
I had no plans to sell it but had a guy make an offer I couldn't refuse when he was told about it. It resides in an old mobile home this guy has on his property now that he has and is completely filled with his collection of models. He is a model kit hoarder.

Also spotted this drag car tow vehicle at Dragway 42.We have another one locally that is painted in John Deere colors and has a Chevy V8 stuffed in it. These guys have to much time and obviously money on their hands. The 4 door early Ford rail behind it is just as wild,

Making it in multiple pieces so each floor can have details. Just tell me if you all dont want me spamming this thread with this stuff.

 

I have no problem with this. Others might be interested in doing something like this as well. It beats just putting your cars on a shelf if you have the room. Look at the guys who are into trains.

 

I don't usually go for these multi packs because there usually aren't enough vehicles I'm interested in but this one caught my eye. Especially the (almost) Lunar Rock Land Cruiser. The Scout and the Datsun are pretty cool too

 

Added a couple tractor pull tractors to the collection today.
