As long as buys can be internalized and sells can be sent to the lit markets, you could have a trillion volume in an hour and it wouldn't move a stock more than 5% unless the computers wanted it to

Wait, did you think I meant a trillion literally? My point is, it doesn't matter how much volume a ticker gets in a day, week, month, year. Buys are internalized, sells are sent to lit markets. It's that simple. Occasionally you get runups from MM covering the delta, but that's easy enough to fix after a week with a quick re-program of the algos. I've been watching this play out in real time with GME for 2 years now.
