My guess would be around or at 2010 with the switch to 0w20 synthetic oil. This has been toyotas practice now for 10+ years

I keep one handy also. My 12yr old likes to find where we're at on little road trips and look for fishing holes!

CBI T3 high clearance rear! Install is pretty straight forward and easy, sketchy part is cutting the bedsides.:bananadead:

I've been really considering taking mine off. The doors are starting to look the same way, but much worse in front of the rear wheels and on the mirrors. Any tips or tricks you learned doing yours? At some point I'd like to remove the one on my hood too. For something that's supposed to protect your paint it sure has a lot of chips in it.

I did not know that. Thanks.

I'm still going to change my oil every 5K.

It shouldn't it sits below the sensor enough.

It was done by the dealer. I thought the ones by the rear wheels were on all of the trucks but maybe not. I know the hood, scoop, mirror backs, behind door handles and door edges are part of a kit the dealer installed. The part you want may be available from the dealer. Should be easy to install.

Yeah I couldn't stand it any longer. Just let it sit in the sun and heat so it warms up. Mine peeled off easily. It's funny that I used to keep the truck in the garage and I didn't have issues for the first few years. But when I got my new Harley I started parking outside overnight then the dew and moisture started causing the mold and mildew issues.

Thanks. Very happy with it so far. Need to bite the bullet and do the hood too.

Glad you've had better luck than me. It can be humid here but I think the overnight moisture is doing it. Every morning there is dew on the truck and I think that is causing the issue.

My mirrors were the worst. That was the first to go. Then the door edges and behind the door handles so that went next. It also looks pretty bad in front of the rear wheels but I'm afraid to take off one side because I had a deer run out and run into the side of my truck a little over a year ago and when the body shop did the repair, that decal began to peel off so I took it back for them to look at. When he peeled it off, the paint came off with it. He said "Oh No"..lol They gave me a rental and they repaired the truck. I worry that the paint will come off now. Maybe it's been enough time that it won't peel the paint now. It has a lifetime warranty on the work so if I peel off the clear and the paint starts to peel, I could just take it by for them to look at and say "look what started happening here" so maybe they'd fix it. I still want to take it off the hood and will probably do that soon. It doesn't look as bad as some of the other parts but it's all around the edge of the clear. The only advise I can give you is let it sit out in the sun so it heats up. Just peel up an edge and start pulling slowly. Came off easy. The hood may be a bit more of a task.
