Over the last 8 tanks I've averaged 21.3mpg. That's on these 55mph rural roads, and in town. It drops when I get on these 75mph freeways. I'm running 285/70/17's and a 2 1/2" lift though, so I'm not unhappy.

I really struggle to see how some of these guys and their trucks are stuck in the mid teens. These trucks can do a lot better than that.

My worst MPGs tend to be in the winter and are still around 18 or so, which was what my old truck got on a good day.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Added weight and increased resistance. When I have my KO2's on the stock wheels I'm lucky to see 16 at 65 on the cruise to work. With the street tires and aftermarket wheels, I'm running 18-19. BUt it's a bit different terrain here. The only flat spots are between the hills and mountains.

I can see that. I've had E rated tires before and although smaller than I have now, they had a negative impact on my MPG's. It's hard to believe it could be that much though. I've never seen any stats that measures rolling resistance but it sounds like it's a hell of a MPG killer.

My KO2's are about 1.5 inches wider at the road than my duelers, even though they are the same size. The side cleats come almost straight down off the sidewall where the Dueler's curve in toward the tread. And the stock wheel / KO2 combo is 9 pounds heavier per tire than the road tires.

265/70/17 BFG Dueler Revo 3 on 17x9 American Racing Baja.

265/70/17 KO2's on stock, aired down to 18. (Point Sublime Trail, North Rim Grand Canyon. Great day on the trails.)

Looks really good. I came real close to buying the Bridgestone dueler's. They're a good tire. I ended up buying the nitto terra grappler's. 285/70/17 SL's. IMG_20220523_201635562.jpg I gotta tell you, the nittos are really growing on me.

Nice truck. I'm thinking about those. I'm going to have a warranty claim with Bridgestone. 3 out of 4 of the tires won't balance. The tires themselves are really out of balance.

I want to get up there with truck. Would be nice to meet some of you guys.

My son put the bridgestones on his truck in Feb. They balanced easy and he's had good luck with them. The Nittos I got have done everything really well, except mud. They don't like mud. Excellent road manners, quiet, ride really well and the MPG's with them are to kill for. I've averaged 21.3 over 11 tanks of gas so far this summer, doing the hard math. 44.53lbs each in my size. I doubt they'd hold up very well in the rocks though. If you get up this way, get ahold of me. Silver lake sand dunes are a riot.

I like the Revo 3's. I've had them in everything on and off road. Mud, rain, 8 inches of snow (that was fun down here). I popped out a sidewall twice on trails. After the second time, I got the KO2'S and put two in the basement for 18 months. Those two are way out, and the new two are a little better. One is only slightly out of tolerance. And the Dunes sound fun. That just takes a really Ling weekend. It's 8 hours just to SE MI.

I like the revo3's myself. The nittos did really well in the snow, and we get a boatload up here. They just didn't seem to clean well with mud. Silver lake sand dunes are almost worth the trip up, even 8 hours. There's some videos on this thread, and on the silver lake sand dunes thread, worth checking out. They're a Michigan gem for offroaders.

I think so too. I get on these 75mph freeways up here and all bets are off. I'm ok at 70mph, get up to 80mph and I'm around 18mpg.

You got a perfect reason to make a trip up here. Spend some time with your sister, and get to go 4 wheeling all in the same weekend. I have family down your way too. Beckley and bluefield WVA. We might get down there for the GNCC mountaineer or the buckwheat this year. Great fun.

I get about that on my armored and lifted Truck, Sport MT, still stock gearing lol

Can't stand Nittos. Ridge Grapplers are an absolute joke in the rain and snow, and I just installed a set of Terra Grapplers on a customer's 4Runner.... Talk about a pita to balance.

    See above lol

Nittos doing well in the snow? You sir..... Are teasing us! I think

Yes, but even those in stock configuration still complain. I still managed pretty good MPGs in Colorado despite having a rooftop tent and mountain bikes loaded onto my truck along with a bed full of camping supplies. Although aerodynamics were probably a factor since my RTT sits even with the cab and the tonneau cover makes the items in the bed a non-factor. The bikes, on the other hand, add quite a bit of drag.
