Hello guys. I'm wondering if anyone has the same issue where the left lower steering wheel trim doesn't rest tight on the wheel. Here is a picture of where mine has the issue:

It can slightly go up and down when I squeeze it. I don't have the same issue on the other side. It bothers me when I make turns and my hand rests on it. I looked up videos of steering wheel trim upgrades to see how the stock ones are held and it doesn't look like there are any adhesive behind it, just screws. Is this a common issue?

Well, they're plastic covers that just snap into place. No screws. Get a trim removal tool, pop it off and glue back in place.

You are correct. The process is much more involved than “pop it off”

Thanks. Do you also have the issue or are yours are all good?

Nah mine are snug. I wanted to replace them with black trim pieces but thought better of it when I saw what was involved.
I was going to comment sooner, but am glad you watched the vid and didn’t get taken for a ride by the other guy telling you to just jam on them.
If it were mine I’d probably watch a couple vids and disassemble/assess. That would drive me crazy

Thanks man. Yeah it just feels flimsy. I could take this for warranty but not sure if I want to, rather do it myself. My experience with interior stuff, when dealer fixes one thing but then scratch/damage other parts. But then again, I had that issue with Ford.

It should sit flush. It's really not a hard fix if you follow the AJT video - I swapped mine out for Army Green ones. But, since your truck is a 2022, the dealer should correct it. Looks like the lower screw might have backed out of the bracket.. The trim pieces are attached to a bracket and the bracket attaches to the steering wheel with two screws - you can see them in this picture.

Thanks. I might as well just upgrade the trim. Like I mentioned above your post, I rather not have dealers work on this. Where did you get your trim?

I had my combo meter replaced under warranty when my truck was a year old. My dealer did a great job putting the dash back together. My thinking is I will have the dealer make things right while I am under warranty. I will fix things myself when out of warranty.

Watch the 14-15 minute mark of the video and you'll see that they're covers. The part thats bolted is what they snap onto. Besides, I've popped them off myself.

Before that, check 12:27. He unscrewed them, held by 3 screws

That's correct - two screws hold the bracket to the wheel and then three screws hold the trim piece to the bracket from the rear.

Very normal, it's supposed to flex. It's annoying and you're not the first to complain about it.

    Personally I'd leave it.
