I saw this 1996 FZJ80 in a driveway in my cousin's neighborhood. It seems to have only recently brought into California, because the BAR database shows only one smog test (which it did pass) in January 2021; I'm thinking it came from somewhere in the Southwest...

One of two JDM FJZ80s at the cars and coffee yesterday morning. Both of them had mismatched taillights, and the owners were friends, so they ended up swapping them out on the spot...

Are those factory JDM attire from the 80-series?

 

Nope, theyre just SCS wheels, see em on Tacos and stuff all the time. They come from Thailand and are literally nothing special as far as wheels go. They just look pleasing, there are some JDM cruiser wheels like this that are white though, forget who makes em.

 

I've seen beadlock-style wheels on a lot of JM 60-series Cruisers. Were those factory?

 

I don't think there were any factory lock wheels. Thing about JDM imports is, they were owned by Japanese people that are into vehicle modding sometimes too and just like in the US there are trends and sometimes they look similar cause they did similar mods. Just how like on here every 3rd gen build is the same shit, different toilet.

Those are premium 3 piece SSR wheels from Japan, forged... they're crazy high quality and they're time period correct vintage for those LCs. I'd love to have a set, they're the pinnacle of quality.

 

Were those 5-lug or 6-lug? They'd look good on my truck, or even my dad's Yukon!

 

They're 6 lug, should fit your dads Yukon if it's a regular one, not the HD.
