negligible if you go aluminum, I have the MillerCat and it was easy to move around with one hand, probably 1/3rd the weight of the pro skid.

EDIT: apparently the MC v6 is 12 lbs,
for reference, the pro skid weighs 27.2 lbs - wasn't too far off!

I installed the MillerCat shield (aluminum) and had an annoying rattle come from the shield when driving along gravel roads, or really any rough section of road. I used mastic tape to add a bit of weight to the upper wings of the shield and the rattle went away. Just FYI in case anybody else runs into that problem.

I already had skid plates, so I had to "improvise, adapt, and overcome." lol. Used these cat wings to add on to my existing skids. Perfect for peace of mind!

    Found this on google.
2021 76.6 % of prisoners that were released & within five years Re- commit more crimes.
USA every year released approx 600,000 prisoners a year. 3/4 of them commits more crime, murders, rape, etc.

FBI - 2018 - 68% Release from prison, Re- commits a crime within 3 yrs
79% prisoners released will commit a crime within 6 yrs
83% prisoners released will commit a crime within 9 years.

People who steals “cats” get very light sentences , if any? The money is so easy, once out they will repeat there crimes.

Why should they work? Tax free income!

    I have the steel
One and it’s not heavy enough to be of concern . It’s nice, easy to install and built well. Worth it I think

Anyone ever tried Talons Garage catalytic converter protection shields?

This one appears to me because you don't have to drill in your frame.

personally i believe career criminals should become involuntary organ donors. 3 strikes, your're out.
they need an incentive to stop. the police here catch and release thieves as if it was a sport (like fishing).

On the news today by State Farm insurance. They mention they paid over 50 million dollars to replace 23,570 catalytic converters due to theft. Average cost approx $2,121.00.
This was just for the first half of the year. Year end in December 31, 2022.

This just one of the many insurance companies. Car repair shops can be a great business.

My Tacoma 6 month renewal now jumped from $600 something to $900 something, even though I have cat shield, insurance companies don't know that and probably hiked my rate because of all these BS thefts.

Please call your insurance company. There may lower the rate for this added protection. No harm in asking?

Insurance companies (not all) will lower your premiums if you add security devices. Just ask.

Here is a couple of images of a Miller Cat installed on my new 2022 Tacoma SR Access Cab 4cyl. Toyota's website offers it as an accessory so I ordered it from the dealership's parts dept and had installed there.

That's what I bought. It's pretty thick aluminum. Shipping was quick and the install was simple

I get the idea that anything you can do to slow down the thief may convince them to move along to the next vehicle.
I'm betting I could cut your shield off in under a minute.
When I owned my used car lot I used to junk a lot of cheap trade ins after removing the cats.
I got to be pretty quick cutting off the cats.
I quickly learned on the mid 90's Dodge Caravans the quickest way for me to get to the cat was to cut a hole in the floor and attack it from the topside.
I've also wrapped a chain around the cats and pulled them out with my shop truck.
At best, that shield will deter an amateur thief, but please don't be fooled into thinking it's theft proof.

Should have aluminum baseball batted his knees as hard as you could. Doubt he's calling the police on you. Give him something to think about when he limps back to his crackhouse.
