I've tried those wax's along with many others. Zymol was about the longest lasting here in new england's weather 24/7. That said nothing come's close to have a good ceramic coating job done.

I'm a Zymol guy also and IMHO, their products are great. Clean, liquid clay bar and wax twice yearly. One time, a month before winter, and once, as soon after winter as I can. I do admit I enjoy the process. It's just another project for a retired guy.

Well i've been retired since i had a stroke, and trust me, as you get older washing, and waxing sucks more than ever. I have enough other projects that suck to.

None of the products pictured are permanent ceramic coatings. There's a difference between "spray coatings" (temporary) and permanent coatings.

Yep, I myself don't want to spend the money for one. Even a "permanent" one only lasts 2-5 years.

Then don’t because others that understand the technology can use it to their advantage, it’s Murica. For the record the real coatings available to professionals are a 3 tier system of 3yr, 5yr, and 7 yrs. You get what you pay for.The higher end stuff is available to consumers if you know where to look.

When I got my Tacoma, I had been using a multi-stage polish for years. While I loved there results, I dreaded doing it every spring and fall. It was a 6-8+ hour production...wash, clay bar, spray/wipe down, apply polish/wax & buff off...so I was looking for newer products.

After some research and recommendations...I ended up going with Griot's 3-in-1 Ceramic Wax. A few days after picking up the truck, I washed, clay barred, then applied a coat of the Griot's 3-in-1 Ceramic Wax to the truck...spray on, wipe, buff off. Super easy...what used to take all day, I could get done in 2-3 hours. The next day I applied a second coat. I'm incredibly happy with the results. After 3+ months now, it's still holding up really well. With regular washes, and using Griots Ceramic Speed Shine as a detailer between applications of Ceramic wax, it should last a good while.

    I just use this:

    https://www.chemicalguys.com/blazin...tml?gtmListValue=Category: waxes-and-sealants

When I was younger, I would use old school carnauba wax. I just don't have enough time nowadays and blazin banana spray wax is fast and easy. I apply it right after I wash the car and it doesn't haze, so no need to buff off. Just spray, wipe, and dry. It doesn't last as long as a carnauba paste wax but then I wash my car every two weeks.

You're forgetting gears and a tune/PC- depending on the answers they'll get from their question to how it will affect their warranty.

The griots. Wipe on. Not a true ceramic I guess but much cheaper and works pretty well for 6 mos to a year

Are you also using Griot’s Ceramic wash & coat. Also their ceramic glass cleaner is great.

I’ve put Xpel coating on my previous SUV (2017) 4Runner and my current (2022) TRD Sport. We have a bad bug problem in south Louisiana and they wash right off. Best $1400 I’ve spent! Covered entire hood, front cap, a pillars, mirrors and 12” above the windshield.

I would say no. coatings like waxes, sealant, and ceramics are completely different things. Oils are basically similar with small differences in performance.

Here's my 2 cents. Most tried and true waxes are great. They give awesome shines and protection but it's short lived. 6 months to a year if you are lucky. Ceramics also give the awesome shines but last much much longer. They are actually a hard coating over your paint.

So if I am doing all the prep work for a coating, I'd rather pay $90 for the ceramic coating and have it last for 2-3 years than a wax that I have to go back an apply after 6 months. It pays for itself by far in saving me time.

Imo, wax's are all fairly similar, so are over the counter ceramic coatings. Same fore sealants...they don't last. Professionally applied ceramic coatings will. Like said, they can be like glass. I can tell you mine is. It gives the paint depth it never had.
