Didn't get around to checking the passenger light and had to run around the corner yesterday to a gas station to pick up ice real quick..... got there and the passenger light had fallen out. Same snapped tab failure.

Damn dude that sucks. Meso addressing the issues? I mean they are a first run. I’m assuming that they would offer to fix them or get some monies back?

I'm guessing that the damage there on your bumper is from where they fell out also, which is a pretty hard double bummer.

@doublethebass, do you think this could have contributed to the failure? Looks like the bottom screw never actually threaded in...

I thought that too, but it actually stripped on on that bottom screw. Kinda hard to tell in this pic.

    Damn, sorry to hear that.
Did it falling off damage the paint?
I took my passenger out so it won't dangle and scrape against the bumper cap. Which happened on my Driver side, leaving gouges in the paint.

I too messaged @MESO and @Travis@Meso here on TW and via their Site contact form. Hopefully they get back soon.

No, I think I got lucky. No damage to the paint.

I reached out to both those guys here and through email too.

How was the condition of the top post? Was it like a clean break? I personally feel that the plastic is a little too hard that it is brittle, mine basically disintegrated into pieces.

For the time being, I using my old taillights.

One of mine was a clean break and the rest kind of shattered.

I got rid of my old lights when I got these. The truck’s not my daily these days but if things don’t get sorted in the next week or two I might buy a cheap set to hold me over.

    :annoyed:

I understand these are a first run on the tail lights. But for the steep price, the overall quality and brightness during day time could be much better. With that said I really like them and they’re the best looking tail lights available.

Just got a message from Austin that they will be sending over a new set! Hopefully they got to you too, so you won't have to buy another set of tails.

WOW.... I missed a lot. Time to catch up:D
    The tails have been a great product. There were a few quirks on the very first run, But we are getting everything ironed out. Nothing is perfect, and that's what evolution and improvement are all about. Some minor changes for next production;
1)Packaging. The stryofoam they were packed in was too thin. Luckily we caught it after some shipping damages and started double boxing them. But next they will be packaged a little more beefier.
    2) Turn signal output is being increased. The amber output was pretty good before..But I wanted more. Worked on it with morimoto and it's about double the output now.
3)Mold modifications. Little plastic tabs on the back that served no purpose other than breaking off will be removed. Along with a few other tweaks but you will not notice them from the outside.

You should be getting a response soon.

Will it be addressed in the limited version? or another future mass produced version with Morimoto?

Just future mass production models. I am working on the limited batch as we speak, but this won't matter because I am deleting the turns form the brake area and doing them below in the reverse anyway.
