Were you having any problems prior to doing the belt?

Also, should I feel a lot of resistance when trying to turn the crank with the belt on? Or should it be smooth like butter?

Did you have the plug wires off and maybe got it crosswired?

If the plugs are in and compression is good you will get quite a bit of resistance when each piston comes up on the compression stroke but otherwise no.

I did take them off. When putting them on, I put them in all over again using this image:

That should be right I'd double check your wires though.

I would triple check the spark plug wires.

What's up with this wiring below? That's not a factory tape job on that wiring. Anything else disconnected? like the MAF?

Will do! One of the wires does seem overstretched.

Take a few more far away shots of the engine bay as it sits now. From a couple different angles. We might spot something else.

Maybe I am anal. I use a paint pen an mark dots on the coils, wires, and valve cover.
It doesn’t even have to dots. It can be anything. Numbers, letter what ever. But at least I know where things go come time to put it back together:confused:

    OME and worth every penny.
The timing is good so if not starting it has to be trying to clear up signals from the improper timing.

Has the battery been disconnected yet?

Battery was always disconnected except for when I tried to fire it up to test it.

I'll disconnect and reconnect all the connectors tomorrow. Also, double and triple check the spark plug wires.

As an aside, when I was taking things apart, I saw that the spark plug wires have blue-with-white-letter labels on them (1,3,5). The order of these wires was not correct. It was reversed. Instead of 1,3,5 (front to back), they were plugged in as 5,3,1 (i.e. wire for cylinder 1 was in cylinder 5). But, the engine was running without issue before, until I decided to fix it according to the diagram I posted above.

Disconnect the battery tonight. Get all of the electrical tape out of there and start checking the wires. My guess is a bad CPS wire.

That's very interesting, I mean if it was running properly before put it back the way it was.
The way it was kicking back while cranking it definitely sounded like the wires were incorrect.
