I wish we had a Costco in my town. I do go to BJs wholesale and buy their gas all the time.
Other than that I use the GasBuddy payment card to try to get the best price if I'm traveling out of town. Usually the stations I get to with that are Sunoco, sheetz, Wawa or Marathon.
I've not seem a noticeable change in mpg. Also when I have the pop up camper along I expect less mpg.

Costco locally here were the first ones to drop back down below $4/gallon, and now sitting at $3.44. I go around Noon/1PM and typically don't have to wait in a line, evenings it's impossible to get in line.

Yes, u used to always just use the gas buddy app to find the price. But when gas went up after our new administration I looked in to the GasBuddy payment card. It gets you a little bit more off the posted price. They process the payment through your checking account via the Wex fleet system. It's usually 5 to 10 cents a gallon off, I realize that's not alot but if you mind the pennies the dollars watch themselves.

I like filling up at Costco gas prior to opening when there isn’t a thousand cars in line. (~8am).

When there are a ton of cars waiting, it’s probably better to fill up somewhere else. The amount you save in Costco’s price gets burned up in time and idling while waiting. Not worth it at that point.

It's worth the 5 minute drive to save at least 5 cents a litre, compared to a 3 minute drive to any other gas station.

I’ve been using Costco gas for years and I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes to get a pump. The funny thing is most people will not take advantage of extra long fuel hoses which allow you to fuel from either side. The real advantage here? Costco is always the lowest price sometimes by a margin of 20 to 30 cents a gallon, I’ll damn sure going to take that deal. I also go inside the store to get the Kirkland full synthetic motor oil which is another quality product. 1.50 dog and a drink and I’m gone. Sam’s had to lower their prices on gasoline and the dog and drink deal when Costco came to town. Fuck Sam’s and fuck Walmart.

Canadians come here to buy Costco gas.

    Cheap asses.

They should have special line for them. In back.

But yeah all in good fun. The lines are huge but move pretty good and with a truck reach over is easy.

Again I wish we had Costco. I feel like it's a little bit better than bjs but still I'm saving 10 to 15 off gas from the station down the street. I get 10 cests more off if I buy with their Mastercard, which I do and pay off right away. They often have items I buy in the club that earn an extra 10 cents off too.

I used to frequent Shell stations, but after the price hikes this spring I started filling up at Costco. I've recently learned that I can take any open pump even if it's opposite the gas tank as the hose will reach.

New Costco just opened less than 2 miles from my house right next to the new Buc-ee's. Costco is always a little cheaper and Buc-ee's is not "top tier" if that really means anything. Buc-ee's has probably 120 pumps so there's never a wait vs 12-15 at Costco and it's always a wait.

Not sure how much it really matters but Costco adds their additive packages (to make them top tier) at each station instead of having their gas supplier do it for them. But in reality you'll probably be fine running gas from any station that sees a lot of traffic.

How and who does that? I've seen the trucks filling up the tanks, but it seems to get pumped out by customers just as fast as it's filled. I've always added a bottle of Techron every so often. :notsure:

I'm not sure of the exact process but looks like they do it as the fuel is being pumped into the tanks.

"As the number of Costco gas stations grew, the challenge was to find an efficient way to mix the gasoline and the additives to meet Costco’s high standards. Tim says Costco decided the best system would be to blend the additives at Costco gas stations during the fuel delivery. This way, he explains, Costco could have complete control over both the process and the quality aspects of the fuel."

Only when the lines aren't ridiculous. Thankfully that's gotten better recently. Wish all of them upgraded to the ones like the Costco in Henderson on St.Rose parkway near the new Raiders training facility each lane is like 6 stalls deep...

sometimes there's no line and sometimes there's a line 30 cars deep. i pass the same costco at the same time everyday. it seems everyone goes to costco to fill up on the same day. it's really weird.
