    I just ordered mine yesterday.

From my research, they are quite reliable. I really haven't found much in regards to problems, issues, or failures.

There's plenty of vehicles with turbos and SCs straight from the factory and Toyota wouldn't back it with the full warranty if there were. Also, it's my belief that part of the cost of the SC and install goes to warranty. IOW, when you buy the part Toyota has padded their end. And shop around and negotiate with the parts guy and service guy the price is quite reasonable compared to similar work for just about any other vehicle. About the same to do it on a Corvette, Mustang, Silverado, etc. And those usually don't come w/ a true factory warranty as they're usually aftermarket.

The only downside I am finding is resale value. It doesn't hurt your resale value it just seems like you don't get much back considering it is a Toyota authorized and installed part.

And according to the TRD site the dealer is not allowed to sell it to you until after you take delivery and are also not allowed to finance with the vehicle. They can sell you floor mats and chrome side steps and roll it in the financing but not the SC.

^Hope you are prepared to pay extra for 91 octane gas all the time.

I've heard of head gasket leaks with the SC at ~ 90,000 miles or so.

I'm at 30K on the TRD S/C, not quite the reference you are looking for, but I'm looking forward to putting those high miles on the truck. No issues whatsoever to date.

I'm at about 185k miles on my 2005 and I've had the TRD S/C on for about 110k miles so far, no major issues other then the TRD s/c belts tend to crack on me a lot. I have replaced the belt 3 times so far.

I had a Supercharger on my mustang and changed the belt every 20,000 if it needed it or not. As long as you don't abuse the truck truck you should be fine. If you drive like you stole it you will have problems

If it's a manual trans the stock clutch won't last long. Go to URD for a performance clutch.

I have 2015 with a SC and at 35K, my belts needed replacement due to cracking. I'm wondering why when my wife's 2005 4runner didn't need replacement until 95K.

After 7 years, the SC is in fine shape with over 75K miles on it. My only issue is that if you have to change your spark plugs, you have to have a mechanic who's fully knowledgeable about SC's. I just changed my plugs and the bill was over $800.

You paid $800 for spark plugs to be changed?! This can be done without removing the supercharger.

And even if you do remove it, I can’t imagine charging someone $800.

I took the truck to two different garages. They wouldn't even touch the truck. Unfortunately, this was in Santa Cruz, Ca- - not a cheap place to get work done. Sounds like I might have been ripped off.,

That is A LOT just for a spark plug change. Next time, you might want to chime in the Norcal section and see if anyone local is willing to do the swap for you for a much more reasonable price.

Not meaning to come off condescending but why not do it yourself? SCs are installed DIY style by many people on this site, plenty of step by step tutorials as well as videos…., $800.00 seems excessively excessive.
