At the old job a kid had a noisy bondo buggy Dodge. One day I was doing some work on the floor, he came by with a pallet jack and zipped right around the obstacles without breaking stride.

Rusty: That is some good driving!
    Kid: Thanks man!
R: You Dodge guys are always the best drivers.
    K: Why is that?
R: Well, coasting off the road 3 or 4 times a month has to teach you something!
    K: Hey, now!

The punch line -- that night he asked to borrow some tools because his truck wouldn't start.

Official retiring these two bad boy endmills. They made it through exactly 40 sets of knife handles for me. A mixture of Carbon fiber, G10, and micarta! Before I found these guys I was using regular carbide 2 flute endmills and I could only get though about 5-6 sets of handles before the endmills where too dull. The 1/4” corncob did the adaptive roughing and the 1/8” corncob interpolated 10 holes per set of handles.

Wow! Amazing how technology continues to advance. That's quite a performance improvement over carbide. Few decades ago at a production shop and one hob was aluminum valve body with something like 3/4 or 1" fine thread hole 2" deep. A regular tap would scrap at least 1 in ten parts. Special coated tap and bingo. Tapped hundreds without a pause cycle to squirt tap juice on it.

    Goodmorning crew.

Drove the 03 rolla to work and back and on the way home noticed a clunk when letting off and then accelerating again. Let off-clunk, Gas-clunk. Pulled it into the garage and can feel play in the wheel bearing a little, but I knew those needed replaced, but I have it in park, and I can rock the wheel a good 10 degrees or so and hear a clunk in the bottom of the transmission. She's got some slop... So she'll sit till I can get around to pulling the trans out and taking a gander this winter.

I may do some extra diagnosing to make sure that's what it is, but I'm pretty sure.
I'll check motor and trans mounts, tie rod ends and balljoints, and bushings.

I did notice there's some play on the new CV at the differential/trans where it slots in. Not in the axle itself, but where the splines go in it's got some wiggle while the passenger side has none.

guess I could take it in and get a diagnosis and then run from there.

I had a guy helping me on a construction job years ago. I give him a brand new bit for the hammer drill. He was drilling holes in brick/morter that I had laid out. He gets about 3/4 of the way done and all sweaty tuckered out and said man that stuff is hard, I think my drill is dull. It looked much like that one!
I turned the drill on and it was running the wrong direction.

They're keeping it pretty hush hush but I should know by the end of the day. If they are rolling back my shop has probably a half day of preps with 4 guys, then the operation of de-fueling which is another couple days minimum. So not a super quick turnaround if they roll back.
