When I start seeing this I know treestand time is right around the corner!!

 

This is my messing with trail cams go to

 

Cleaning (de scenting) the washing machine and double rinse so I can start washing my hunting clothes .

 

My hunting clothes stay in a Plano case with a bunch of these:

 

I hike in everywhere I hunt (western states.)

I can confidently say that any scent management attempted is mute. By mile 1, I’m pretty sure the animals think I smell like a bag of smashed assholes. Getting the wind right is pretty much the only way to go, for me.

 

Seems to work for me as well. Have a big packpack that lives in the closet with all hunting clothes. They get a wash at the beginning of season, air dry outside with a coat of permethrin, and then right back into the backpack with the wafers for the entire season. Call it gross, but the only things I wash during season are underoos and socks. I guess I should add that only half of those clothes get used the entire season; base layers or coveralls don't really come out until about the 3rd hunt that I tell myself I just can't physically stand being cold anymore.

i hunt easy land now. but in the day at the homeplace. to the top of the mountain i went. Everyday. carried a base layer shirt to change into and put the sweaty one in a gallon zip bag. I know what ur saying

 

I have 6 huge Totes and 2 HS Strut scent free bags full of hunting clothes. All Scent -Lok gets reactivated . All base layers washed and outer wear in Scent free detergent and air dried also . I like the wafers also . The buck rut and doe estrous work good at scrapes . Earth gets hung a few feet off the ground at my tree stands .

 

I put a API Baby Grand Twister on FB market place today . Getting to be too much hanging all these lock-on tree stands . I have a nice Chippewa stand and 2 Lone Wolf Alphas plus the Lone Wolf Sit and Climb . Plus a few ladder stands in the woods .

I'm totally with you. If it's dead calm, I just hope I get lucky and they don't smell me; if I have a decent breeze in my face I feel as though I have a slight advantage. I'll take a 15mph wind any day of the week.

 

Yep, ive had elk and deer less than 20yds from me with a good breeze towards me. Ive also had elk and deer 80yds away bolt off when they caught my wind
