I'm finishing an oak end table and the wanted it painted.

Is it possible to poly over the paint to protect the paint so it doesn't chip or scrape off? Or will the poly not stick to the paint?

 

Yes. I've done it on furniture and on painted walls as a subtle accent (stripes). Paint and poly were both water based.

 

Finally pouring a slab in my outbuilding. I never thought I'd be so excited about concrete but I'm super stoked to finally have a real floor

 

I need a decent shop like that, but with a drain in the floor for car detailing.

 

Anyone have septic mound that is pump fed?

I'm looking for proper pump on off cycle suggestions.

Drain mound works great. Quick.

Previous setting was 2 minutes per 2 hours. Tank would alarm.

I can have it set full on control with float and mound keeps up.

Changed to 4 minutes per hour. Every thing has been fine this week.

 

I thought about that but this building I park the Tacoma on one side and the other side is for tools, welder, band saw, drill press, 4'x4' metal work table, detail cabinet, shelving etc. For me details happen outdoors lol

 

Nice setup! I'm currently stuck with an undersized two car garage and a nosey HOA. Still dreaming of the day I can get a few acres and some elbow room from neighbors.

Mostly agree, however as a contrary thought the shorter off time the more the holding tank stays homogenous and thus not stratified. If you’re using Tp and or feminine products you want to keep things mixed during for pumping cycles to prevent buildup. Does your pump station; when setup on a timer still setup still shut off on low level or is it strictly on time? When I used to deal with pump stations the main issue with float control was when you had a build up of paper products on the start or alarm float. You should go off of the fact that motors can easily start 6 times an hour without issue.

 

you want the rebar roughly in the middle of the slab thickness otherwise its not really doing anything

 

I think that info assumes you have a separate pump chamber which is pretty standard for modern systems

ie 2 chamber septic tank and separate pump tank
