Tacoma Lift FAQ/Guide - READ THIS

Went with the OME kit from Wheeler's Off Road.

 

Looking at the exact same one myself.
Long story short, wife and I made a deal and I finally get a lift.

Am wondering though, on a 19 SR5, what is the biggest tire size I could get after this kit. Ill need to do a little research, but am thinking I can still only go up to a 265/75/16 ?

What if I added a 1.5" spacer on the wheels?

So many questions... so many options and opinions.

 

Personally not big fan of spacers and not a fan of the CMC to get tires to fit. I would rather upgrade components that can handle the larger tire and do it with the least damage to the truck.

I also don't really have a need for larger tires than I already have.

 

You can fit 285's with minimal trimming of plastic up front.
I currently have only a 2" lift with 285's. I off-road a lot (So much that I wore out my Cab mounts after only 5K miles) and have stuffed these tires and no CMC No rubbing. It depends on how you set up the truck.

 

Sorry I didn't see you want to add 1.5" spacers to the wheels????

Anyone have experience with airbags? Wanting to do a simple (2-3”) lift but able to hold weight when towing, camping, etc. while not having a stiff unloaded ride. Thanks!

 

About to upgrade to Kings and will have some trd pros with the westcott design kit available soon. Bought them with around 2k miles of a 2019 and I’ve put on just about 6k miles wanted to know what would be a fair price for them.

 

I'm on my 2nd Tacoma, first time looking into a suspension, wheels and tire upgrades though...

Question: What sort of MPG loss should I expect if I go from stock height, and OE 16" TRD off road wheels...to a 2-2.5" lift, and a 17" wheel w/ 30 or 31" tires?

 

As long as you don’t put a taller heavier tire on, you should be good. Wheels shouldn’t have much an impact.

 

i tried reading thru this thread but theres just too much to read! What I want to do is lift the front of my truck about 1.5"-2" and the rear end about 1/2"-1"
i know I could go the leveling kit route, but Im thinking Id rather do it with adjustable shocks like the Bilstein 5100's. But, I want a mushier ride than the stock ride I have on my TRD Sport. Id like a ride similar to the Off Road ride that isnt as stiff as the Sports Ride. Would installing the 5100's make my ride firmer than what I have now? If so, are there any adjustable shocks that would give me a softer ride?

 

I would suggest you talk to @AccuTune Offroad. There are a lot of variables to your question.

 

still have my stock 2020 OR shocks and need help understanding what i'm asking for in suspension terms.
if my current suspension feels like it dives on deceleration, bounces sharply going over obstacles with even braking power, whacks your under side armor on the rebound.. leaning more towards low speed concerns, what am i referring to alleviating? lower/higher spring rate, a dampening type? etc..

 

Just jumped on and looking for info & advice as this is my first IFS lift I have a 2017 OR.
Currently have new 6112 billies set on 6/5 & 5160 rears. Icon 3 leaf aal. ready to install. Looking at JBA high caster UCAS. Doing know if I need anything else, swaybar relocation, CB spacer etc. ? I would like to run 285/70-17 nitto ridge grapplers not sure what specs will work? Don't want to cut up the truck. Sorry about the lengthy post!

2013 TRD O/R DCSB with 196,XXX on original suspension. The truck has never been off-road and I want to replace old shocks and level the front end. Looking at this:

Generally seems fine.
The rear springs are also pretty tired.
It might be worth seeing if you can find a set of takeoff rear springs from a 3trd gen to replace yours.

Different shocks first one is cheaper nitro chargers second o e is BP 51 shocks with compression and rebound asjusters

 

Thanks, im guessing BP 51 means that their better? and the compression + rebound adjusters are also something that the others dont have?
