Hello TW, oh how I miss my thee...

So apparently I need a new "lift spring" on the passenger side but I can't buy one without the other, right? (like heels and shoes, lol) Do you know of anyone selling some in So Cal or where I can get a good deal on the lift and install???

Next question, how would I put a gap in the lift spring that it appears to have now??? I can probably post some pictures later.

You dont have to buy springs in pairs. You can buy them seperatly just as long as you know what spring rate that you need. Its a good idea to keep the same brand if your not going to change them both out. But springs arent as expensive as alot of people think. How old is the other spring(as they do compress over time).

If you can afford it, replace both springs.\

    hope it helps.

Some background would help, who told you that you needed a new spring and why? I see you have a '08, unless you were hauling a lot, or doing some serious off roading, I can't see how you'd crap out a spring already. Otherwise, this other guy is correct, if one side is shot, the other side usually isn't too far behind if it was caused by normal wear and tear so you might as well replace both.

Thanks, I might just replace both.

That's what my co worker said. I checked, and the last time I went wheeling was Dec. 19th 2009 at Cleghorn and I was following JEFFERSON and TRICOMA was behind me! I remember jumping a bit ditch that some Frontier's was holding us up.

Other than that, numerous of people borrow my truck for moving and heading out to Mammoth and camping trips and it's at 80K as we speak bc I commute to work and is my daily driver.:cool:

My sister in law took it in and replaced the shocks for me, now I have to replace the lift spring and I guess it is now holding up with wire.

Here are some pictures that my sister in law took for me:

    Holy Crap girl !!! :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Looks like you ran over someone flying a kite !!:eek::D

Ok, where to begin, you say a "lift" spring on pass. side is bad or is it broken ?? By lift spring , was it an AAL ? on stock springs or are the springs after market ? like in a lift? & if it was a lift ,how much for the rear ?

Sorry for bombing you with questions , but I may have a solution for you that won't empty your wallet (or purse in your case..;))

These are my very worn out crappy stock springs after I rebuilt them using 4-(adding 2 per side) old junk yard Ford springs , not only brought them back to life, but gained 3" & actually better ride on highway... for a total of about $ 30 & a can of cheap spray paint....

Now , I know that you have a 2nd. gen. & I have a 1st gen. No matter they are both roughly 55.5", uncompressed from front eyelett to rear eyelett (shackle), so you were trailing with Jefferson & Tri huh ?? I dunno, pretty shady characters if ya ask me .....:eek::Dj/k

I've trailed with Tri many times, & Jefferson I saw sitting by his truck at the beach once (as any true offroader would do !! heheheh )

If you can give me the info to the questions I posed & you are interested let me know & I'll go measure & get the true dimensions.....;)

i broke the shock and the spring. one caused the other, i forget which one. i replaced the shock and bought the spring off some guy off TW. :)

next move is to have someone, or pay someone to switch out my old spring for the new ones i bought.

everyone said my truck is an 08 and there is no way i need to replace either; long story short...i don't know cars, just know how to drive (most times :D) and that's the next step i need to do.
