Mine was suppose to be dropped at dealer this last weekend , but maybe this rail situation is causing delay. Dealer was not very helpful.

Thank you @Rod03 but honestly I'm puzzled because all 3 of those were allocated/built and shipped after my TRD Pro...yet some are on truck for delivery/arrived at daytons bluff already?? Did my truck fall off the train or something lol?

It just doesnt make sense from a management point of view because you'd want to get the ones that came in first, out first. Who is running these rail yards? Do they just pick random cars and decide to do those?

@Rod03 from your experience with me being in the southeast, how are they generally transported from mexico? And what times are you seeing currently from builds to dealers on a trd sport manual with no mods?

I dont keep track especially SE Toyota, not familiar with their routes. There are a lot of factors on the transport situation, its very hard to estimate timelines.

Good afternoon everyone. My apologies if this is the wrong venue for this kind of question, I'm new here but figured it might be relevant since all of you went through what I am about to go through myself next month. I am finally replacing my 14 year old daily driver with what I hope to be a 2022/2023 Tacoma TRD Sport Access Cab with a 6 Speed Manual. Color is Army Green. Am I crazy to have such specific details for my order and do you think I will have any issue with the order? I don't mind waiting as I still have a working vehicle. What can I say, I know what I want. I live in Central New Jersey but don't mind traveling for it. I just don't want to get raped with excessive dealer markups. What have been your experiences? Again sorry if this is the wrong place for such a question.

I ordered the same truck. I initially placed a 2500 refundable deposit for an allocation. Waited 3 months and had no response from dealer. Initially was told that it was a rare truck. So I decided to take matters into my own hands. Check cars.com or autotrader and see what matches come up.then call those dealers and see if they are willing to do business. I felt like waiting for allocation is like playing the lottery and im not a fan of that. You may never get what you want. I got lucky and found the truck couple states away with what I wanted.

Also was told by dealer that its easier to get an allocation for a truck they already sold. Don't know if it's true, but I would search for the truck. Find a dealer that has it. Even if it's presold, it may be a better chance for them to get allocation of same truck. Maybe other members here can chime in on that theory.

I'm also in Jersey. In my search I found about 3 dealers who were selling at MSRP one them everyone seemed to have luck with was Princeton but they wouldn't sell to me as they said Monmouth County wasn't local enough. A lot of the dealers around here were only selling local. Even tried a few PA ones and was told I live too far. I got lucky as I went in person to Sansone as they had the truck I wanted but their website said presold. Turns out the other buyer backed out. They wanted almost $4000 over and I laughed at them and they took it right off. I did get stuck paying 299 for etching and 600 doc fees but I thought that was fair considering what I saw around the area.
