How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

I guess the real question now is, how do I stalk the train my truck is on?

 

I had requirements as specific as yours; I placed deposit/request in February and was informed my dealership had gotten an allocation which matched my requirements (but second choice on color) in early August. My Tacoma is scheduled to be built next week and delivered in November.

 

Army Green is discontinued with the 2023 models which are now starting to appear on allocations. Best chance is likely something already built. I had very little luck going out of state without a significant markup, finally settled on my 2nd choice after Army Green.

 

@Rod03 Nervously waiting word from the dealership. First they said the 21st - 26th then they said yesterday or today. It’s 1 1/2 hour trip to the dealership. Can I trouble you with another check on this?

Princeton Toyota wouldn’t deal with me either. When I input my zip code on the Toyota homepage for “dealerships near me” they come up as 22.8 miles away but they told me I have to be inside 20 miles for them to sell me a truck.

I had nothing but negative experiences with NJ dealerships. Had to bite it on a dealer markup with a PA dealership but at least it was all above the board on what I’d pay.

 

I went on Autotrader and put filters of 2022, Tacoma, Manual, Green, 2door, any distance; found 19 of them. Good luck!

For those that are in the the North East, what have you seen as the progress the trucks go through?
So mine was build on the 27th, processed on the 29th and said put on "rail" on 29th (got a lot of unlock notifications on 28th and 29th).
I'm assuming when they say "rail" they mean Rail to port in Veracruz, then on ship to Newark, then on a truck to dealership? Does that sound right? My dealer just sent me a screen shot of it showing rail until 9/13 est so my guess that's the whole trip to Newark port? Also what port are they putting the accessory's on? I feel like this should be well documented to help others. lol

 

I'm in upstate ny, I think we're on the same train. Departed on the 29th, heading to Buffalo and should arrive there around 9/13, then heading east between the 15th & 20th

 

Called to get an update on my TRD Pro. Dealership said because we're in middle of nowhere North Dakota that he's seen many vehicles get stuck at Dayton's Bluff because no one wants to drive 1 or 2 vehicles to Minot, ND. So they just sit and pile up till some driver thinks it's worth the trip.

Dang, I think my truck is stalled in Newark NJ, awaiting the addition of port installed options before getting on a truck. More delay. More patience is called for.

 

The truck was build on 04/27, rail departed on 04/28 out of San Diego in route to Orillia. On 05/24 it was hit with a hold. No other update since.

I offered to drive there and get it for them, and drive it straight back to the dealership. But they didn't take me up on it...
