Have not. Looks like a lot of cosmetic add ons... For a bolt on option, might be a good choice, but I wouldn't hesitate to hit up the metal shop and start mimicking some of the bars if you might be looking for some chassis stiffeners, have tools and space.

Some of the FJ guys have been running Addco sway bars. They are thicker compared to stock and a slight upgrade if you plan to keep the stock mount sway bars. I have the rear on my FJ and has worked as advertised.

Tomorrow I am going to be looking at/test driving a Tacoma with the TRD S/C. Is there anything specific that I should look for? Also, is there anything else I should ask about? I think I have just about everything I need beforehand information wise, but I want to make sure I have all my bases covered.

    Here is what I know:
    '09 with ~74k miles (~50k miles on the S/C)
    Upgraded coupler
    2.85" URD stealth pulley
aFe Stage 2 si intake with aluminum TRD cover plate
    Gibson catback exhaust
Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump with fuel regulator mod
    Running Toyota S/C tune
Running injectors that came with the kit

I tried searching this thread to see if there are any "tips and tricks" for buying a used truck with a S/C and didn't find anything (this has become quite the megathread lol). Apologies if this has been covered before.

Just curious did anyone fix the pitting at the back of the supercharger due to the heater hose clamp rubbing on it? Just haven't seen any updates since that issue was found.

i havent but if yours has a deep hole or gouge, you could pull the blower off and have someone add some material with a tig welder. Shouldn't be hard since it's aluminum. Just a suggestion

I would check the coolant. Both in the engine radiator and the SC reservoir. It should be pink (the Toyota brand) and full. If it's both of those, it's a good indication that it was maintained well, or at least serviced by Toyota.

Mine wasn't all the way through. If it was, I'd probably JB weld it.

I haven't pulled mine off yet for service, but I probably will soon since I'll be in between jobs starting... tomorrow. :annoyed:

I'll have to see how bad it is, but I am pretty sure it isn't all the way through. I just couldn't get a feel for how deep it is with my wifi boroscope cam poking back there.

acetone to clean the area and the correct jb-weld should make things all good.

What is the correct JB Weld? I have only ever used epoxy. And carried a JB Weld Steel Stick around Baja on my motorcycle, but never needed to use it.
