Favorite Whiskey?

I bought an airline bottle of that and I couldn't even finish it. Maybe got a bad batch. So bad I didn't want to try any other Balcones. Eventually I had a different version (not Baby Blue) and it was good.

 

I understand…. I’ve had this bottle open for like 18 months…. Idk what it is it’s just not for me..

 

It is an unfortunate reality that gift bottles usually end up in cocktails.

Because most people buying whiskey as a gift know fuckall about whiskey and go by bottle appearance/label marketing. Which means they usually end up providing a sourced, questionable juice to someone who knows WT101 is better than most of the stuff costing $50 on the shelf.

I’ve eyeballed TX several times but never pulled the trigger. Perhaps I should investigate.

For reference…a little variation, nothing like your extra ounce though.

 

Without being rude TX is the absolute worst thing I have ever tried. It has this artificial vanilla sweetness that made me want to pour it down the drain but I managed to get a couple drunk guys to take it from me one night and was happy to see it go.

 

It's among the best smelling you can find. I love the smell of it, could rub it behind my ears LOL

This reminds me that I have three specific bottles that I want out of my house but I can’t bear to just pour them down the drain. How does one find someone to take opened bottles off your hands?

 

If you are not a bourbon drinker, it's okay. The vanilla can be overwhelming, but I have never wanted to pour anything down the drain or give it to drunk guys. May not be your cup of tea, but that doesnt make it bad.

 

One mans trash is another mans treasure, some one will take them. Just because they dont suit you doesnt mean they are shit.

I would suspect different temperatures at time of bottling vs in your home, and thus changes in volume as the liquid warms/cools.

 

Having me some B&B (key #2 for those who collect keys). Not bad, but I definitely prefer the 4Rs SiB (hint @Hook78 ).
