What is the "right way" in your opinion? In my view, merely posting the phone number of an individual who again, has stolen hundreds of thousands from a large number of people and then dropped off/went into hiding, is not being an asshole. Don't do the crime if you don't want the fame.

 

The right way is the legal way. Civil and/or criminal litigation.

And yes, posting details online for the purposes of encouraging harassment is very much being an asshole, no matter the justification. It doesn't matter if the dude's a scammer, a pedo, or an axe muderer, doxxing is a dick move, period, bottom line.

I agree with you, Sean. If Rock prefers to protect the identify and feelings of scammers, pedos and axe murderers, that is their prerogative. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I suppose we can just leave it as we agree to disagree.

Good news for me. I got a full refund thru my bank dispute. Thanks Bank of America. It took 30 days. I waited 10 weeks then started doing google searches on explore overland and found this thread/forum so I immediately filed a dispute thru my bank. At 4weeks I was told 2 more weeks then they stopped replying to me. So 10 weeks was enough for me lil b’s here I come.

 

The admins should remove the number. Doxxing people is not correct. This man still has a family, and putting them at risk for his mistakes is not fair.

As others said. Let the courts, etc decide what should be done.

 

I finally got a response from NYS Consumer Protection. They said all mail was returned to them with no forwarding address and not numbers were able to be reached. The then told me my info was sent to the Attorney Generals office but can't guarantee something will be done. I called the AG's office and they told me to put in an official complaint online.

 

Took a couple of months but received my refund from PayPal today

 

The NYS AG office is no joke. You’ll see something come of this.

 

I got a letter from NYS AG, since they filed bankruptcy I can file a Proof of Claim with the bankruptcy court and hope to get some of my money, some day.

 

Hey guys, another victim her that bought almost last year. never had time to keep calling them and finding this all out today. Credit company is asking for any document proving they are officially bankrupt. Could anyone lead me to that page if it exists. PLease and thanks

 

I can't find official documents either. The bankruptcy websites are all but worthless unless you're filing bankruptcy yourself.

 

yah, my CC company wants such documents since the transaction has been how long ago now. Hopefully someone here chimes in soon that have those magic google search thumbs

 

I can't seem to find any filing under Derrick Snell for bankruptcy through the PACER Case Locator, what was the name on the CC receipt as the business? Explore Overland also does not get any pings for bankruptcy through PACER.

 

I signed up for that PACER thing too, I thought you had to know the district they filed in I assumed Northern District of New York was the right court because that's what came up when you search for bankruptcy court for Utica, NY. Still no results though.

 

Yes Northern New York; District 2 is where you should have searched.
As far as I can tell NYS still has them as a business entity, although they may need to file dissolution papers during a bankruptcy but I don't see any paperwork in any of the systems pertaining to anything happening. I've been working through finding their articles of organization and the amendment. These should list all owners and their addresses, if Derrick was not an owner it would show in those papers and what names in which should be searched for within the PACER.

 

This is great. According to the letter I got from Attorney General's office the company has filed bankruptcy. Just a matter of finding the info, I'll try to call the AG or bankruptcy court tomorrow.

 

Do you have the attached page with the filing info like stated in paragraph 2?
