Happy to be here and thanks for the add! I have a 22 Sr5 4x4. Just installed a 3” Ironman lift, and am looking to affordably upgrade my wheels to off-road. Can I put off-road tires on the stock wheels? If so what’s the best option? If not what size wheels and tires have worked best for you in the past?

    thanks for any advice! Ray

You have 16" correct? I just went through this a couple months ago:

If you want aggressive tread pattern, my suggestion is either the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W, Nitto Terra Grappler AT or the Toyo Open Country A/T III

I went less aggressive with the Cooper Discoverer ATP II and I really like them. Good traction but not so noisy or bad on mileage. Not super expensive either.

I finally got bigger tires 2020 Long Travel Tacoma 1997 MAGNUM
Yes, AT tires work with stock wheels. BFG KO2, Toyo open country are good options. I have 285/75r16 currently, they're a great size but if you're commuting a lot I wouldn't put them as your first choice

I have some property I drive to several times a month and its got some pretty steep parts that are in bad shape (old logging road) to get to it and they work great, even when raining, way better than the original crap tires that failed me now fewer than three times trying to get up the same road. Havent tried them on snow or ice as I havent had them long enough.
