Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Prices are going up so fast it is hard to keep track.

I could see a job I quoted 4 years ago materials and consumables last I looked have almost doubled.

Anyone? The truck I'm planning to look at this weekend is a 3.5hr ride from where I live. I don't want to drive 7hrs round trip if it's not worth it. I'd be taking a '04 donor 3.4 Prerunner frame and swapping it into my '02 3.4 4x4. I saw an older thread on another forum that said the 4x4 and 4x2 frame is interchangeable. I've read other threads about swapping a 4x2 to a 4x4, but none of them specifically mentioned any frame modifications.

Trying to lookup frame specs on the internet/Toyota parts sites is a futile task.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

I am not an expert on the subject but from reading other threads, the 4x4 & Prerunner share the same frame. There may be differences in location of motor/transmission/bed mounts.

I'm confident in that the motor mounts and bed/cabin mounts being the same as both vehicles have the 3.4 engine and both are double cab frames.

The transmission mounts, specifically from the transfer case to the front differential is what I'm not certain on. I'm unsure if the front crossmember is different and if there would be any issues mounting the front differential on a 4x2 frame.

99.9% sure it's the same. Only thing that would make it different is if it has a manual transmission vs a automatic transmission.
