I don't know any car manufacturer that is actually developing a new ICE at this point. They are all focusing on moving into hybrid or full EV at this point. So yeah, we may not even get to 2035 before new ICE cars will not be available from auto makers.

They raised the Lighting cost by between 6000 - 8500 depending on the model. But by all means keep moving the goal posts to suit your narrative.

Maybe you don’t understand how projections work. Okay, I take that back. You are an expect are projecting but you don’t understand charts or the descriptions of charts.

Excellent time for a new ICE start up. Close a door & open a window, or how ever that saying goes.

Amazon is shuttering some of there warehouse doors in MD. Things don't always stay the same, and the economy will be the 1st to make adjustments. Government, the same G that mandates for EVs, is the same G that helps establish new Amazon warehouses construction.

Hydrogen was supposed to be the next great thing until EVs came along. A hydrogen filling station was built near me many years ago and I have never seen anyone filling a car at it. Is it the fear of driving a hydrogen bomb that’s the problem? Is that better or worse than an EV battery fire? o_O

Better, the EV battery fire could get your home.

Hydrogen cars are safer than a gas car and probably a BEV. in regards to fire.

I don’t think that’s happening. You better start hoarding junkyard Tacoma engines to keep that truck running for the rest of your life.

We are at peak ICE vehicle world. While there appear to not be any clean sheet ICE there are still new ICE in the pipeline that will field in the near term. The automakers will go where they can maximize profit. If the motoring public keeps buying ICE they will continue to field where they can. If the demand/profit in ICE is insufficient they will harvest profit and minimize. Ford diverted their capacity to almost exclusively SUV/Trucks because the $$$ in cars was insufficient.

So, the current/pending ICE will be fantastic. Spend your money, tell you friends to spend theirs. If/when the money stops the manufacturing capacity will be moved.

A telling sign of where the auto companies think the market is going - The car company announcements of big development or factory investments all seem to be around electrification. Spend money differently and prove them wrong and there will be a response. Their bets are on electrification.

+1 comment. Texas + Florida is comparable to California in new car sales. If Texas + Florida markets keep buying ICE then the rest of the country will continue get ICE as well. If Texas + Florida markets move to electric then ICE becomes a niche market. So, to keep ICE the place the action needed is to keep Texas and Florida car buyers buying ICE.

California is doing what California will do. It’s really what happens in Texas and Florida that will determine how far and where the rest of the US market goes.

My guess, your guess is your own. Will see in 15 years.

Truthfully I would prefer a Hydrogen car over just an EV as it generates the power for its battery. The output is water. With plain EVs, the electricity is being produced someplace else. In most cases using fossil fuel as of now. EVs are just shifting the pollution problem to other places. I still have to learn about the recycling of the ginormous batteries used in EVs.

I think BEV is the middle man, in a sense, to FCEV's. Walmart is currently switching some of their trucks for local use and their forklifts to use Green Hydrogen. Toyota as well as other manufacturers are currently developing or investing in EV battery recycling and most resell for battery backup system for use in the US and abroad. But once solid state batteries come into market , which Toyota is now switching to in their hybrids, that will be a game changer.

I'm sure by the time I'm ready to purchase an electric or hydrogen car , they will have a lot better range. What I do know is that vehicle will be a Toyota.

Have you ever seen any video media of EV pick up owners? They always say how much money they save on fue, and how great the product is from a company they don't own. They throw out a bunch of nonsensical numbers that don't mean diddly squat.

What I'm getting at, is that media sounds like paid promotion. Never once do they say how much they paid for the vehicle.
