Unfortunately that was the last race on that surface. They'll tear it up, host a few dirt events, and then repave it for next year.

Brad K said last night he thinks Kyle Busch has a deal done but can't say anything yet simply based on his demeanor at Watkins Glen. My brother saw something about Busch expecting to have a decision made in the next 7-10 days with multiple offers on the table, including Gibbs (or implying anyway).

He's playing this very close to the vest. Neither of my NASCAR reporter friends can get an angle from anyone on where he might be heading.

Yeah. He was asked how much of a chance he'll have to change his attitude for a sponsor and he said "18%" and then also "16%" and gave several numbers as well such as 3 and 29. He also mentioned he's weighing a lot and his gut doesn't feel well because he's going to have to disappoint some people with whatever decision he makes.

God I hope he stays with Gibbs, that 18 is so iconic with Kyle and Kyle definitely isn't done winning.

I just watched that bit. Pretty funny. Good to see him a bit at ease for once with the press.

For sure. He also added that KBM and the pieces it has has been probably the biggest puzzle piece that has caused issues, apart of course from Mars leaving and needing a primary sponsor. He said if it was him alone he would have had a deal done already.

He also brought up a good point in that he admits his personna has made things a bit more difficult to attract a sponsor but also flipped the question to, "what $5-10M sponsor has come into our sport recently?" To which the media personnel couldn't answer (or I couldn't hear an answer anyway).

I guess that's fair. Although, it's hard to count in-house sponsors. That's like Rowdy Energy coming in and committing that same amount to sponsor Busch. Technically yes, but also not really.
