So, I may have gone a little too deep into the first creek crossing today. I need to pull the bottle jack tray out from under the seats. But it’s held in with those 4 prong plastic clamps. Does anyone know the name of that tool and where I can get one so I can finish pulling the back of the carpet out so it can dry?

pic for attention (sorry, it’s not a pic of my truck submerged, just a little water that got into the storage cubbie. And the side shown is the drivers side. It was the most dry side)

Oh, it’s definitely in the carpets too. All the way up to the passenger front seat floor board.

You can find the tool for that at Harbor Freight, but you can just use a flat blade screwdriver.

I know what I can use. I’d prefer the proper tool though. Thanks either way.

I carry a tool box in the bed that sits right above the axle. It had a water witness mark 3 inches up the rear side of the box. Luckily the filter was totally dry.

Push pin pliers. Available at HF.

Edit: no guarantee they will fit there though.

The thinner the blade the better off you will be.
Those parts store body panel clip tools are usually too thick and mare up the edges clips.
I use 2 small pocket flat blade screw drivers. And pry from both sides at the same time.

I would also get a set of panel clip pliers and panel clip pry bars.

Edit- I have all of them, but on push clips I tend to use flat head screwdriver wrapped with electrical tape to prevent damage to surround plastic.

Thank you very much to the last few members to post! You all have been a great help. I’ll make the drive tomorrow morning and be sure to get a couple small screw drivers as well just in case the other tools don’t work. I have a habit of absolutely mangling those damned plastic clips.

I went early this morning to HF to buy the aforementioned items. To my surprise and luck they had all of them. So, not knowing exactly what I would need for this project and knowing this will not be my last time removing those damned clips, I bought all of it. $55 or so later I’m on my way home, windows open because it’s a nice morning and because airflow helps dry the carpets. Here’s todays progress. 81F7BCEE-95A3-4AA4-AF6D-97C4DC96FA1D.jpg4FF240C5-6D2D-4114-B8CA-E819364DF4DB.jpg

i'd also recommend getting an ozone generator and a couple buckets of damprid. you want to sanitize everything so mold doesn't start to grow. also, when it is mostly dried out, close all doors and windows, run the heat on high with the a/c and recirculate on for a couple hours. this works like a dehumidifier.
