I appreciate all the info! Unfortunately I will be moving in November so I will miss the meetup. My truck is mostly stock except for different wheels and tires so I may be looking at some suspension upgrades depending on what it looks like out there.

Moving from ND so it will be quite a bit different than the flatness I am used too. Looking forward to being a part of a bigger taco community!

 

Holy crap! Yeah brother, it's gonna be a change. I interviewed for an AF Civ job in ND; I would have taken it, if offered. But now I'm here and it's not terrible. Prices and taxes are horrible. Fed Tax? Of course. State Tax? horrible but yes. But the county you live in will also steal your income, too. Thanks to those things and higher brackets, my pay raise of $20,000/yr turned into less than $8000/yr take-home (just claiming 1 - myself - on my tax forms). Food prices are maybe 30% higher than you might expect; at restaurants and whatnot. About $30 for a single crabcake meal is pretty normal here, despite being an hour from the source, for example. Groceries are fine - not much different than i expected. The people seem great, though they love the left lane in traffic. Great markets and farms for produce - several 'self-serve' huts at farms nearby; just leave your $ in the cashbox. I love that stuff. Being so close to so much history is wonderful, too!

West MD - near WVa is beautiful, though I merely passed through during my move from Oklahoma a couple of months ago.

 

Where are you at? A few of us are going up flag pole knob to wheel and camp this weekend. Going up Saturday morning and planning to stay the night.

 

i too can't wait for summer to be over tired of dragging hose most of the day. But will have plenty of sod to water in the fall as the the course I work on is doing a renovation so sod sod and more sod . Where and what time are you all meeting up thinking of joining. Won't be camping though as I don't have any gear at the moment.

Thank you! I'm in aberdeen; still unpacking from my move, though - so I can't get out into the wilderness for maybe another few weeks.

 

If my memory is working correctly, the next light would be Conklin st? When I was a wee lad, my grandparents used to rent a row house directly across from the brewery ( when they brewed the nappy-bo at the brewery). There was a corner bar, then their house. At lunch time, a whistle would blow and the workers walked across the road into the bar. Another whistle would blow when it was time to go back to work. Crazy stuff...

Good evening Maryland. Eastern Shore of MD here. Been a member here at TW for a few years, on my second Taco, a 2020 TRD Sport that last year replaced a 2005 TRD Sport. For some reason I've never checked out the Maryland page before...So I guess this qualifies as my first introduction and post. I'm the "new guy" I suppose.
