I know plenty of people with criminal records.
To be honest, except for a few exception, I don’t care about criminal PAST.
I care about what you do in the future. I’ll give most people a chance, and maybe, just maybe, 2 chances if I like you. You don’t however, get 3 chances.

Like the son of a bitch who killed somebody while driving drunk in the 1980s, then drove drunk in 2015 and smashed up my Tacoma in the process...

That guy wouldn’t get another chance.
He’d be walking or pedaling. And no, I wouldn’t give him a ride.
He clearly did not learn anything from the death of another. He has no excuse.

And it would be considered justifiable/self-defense in pretty much all jurisdictions...

I'm saying that if that house were for sale here in PA and I had the money, I would buy it even though it doesn't have basement; I would never built a house from scratch without a basement around here. There is a 1970s contemporary rancher less than a mile from my house that has been on the market for months, and I think that it's lack of a basement has something to do with it..

That, and the fact that they are asking $560K for a 1-story house with no basement!

If you closely, you will see that the plan was designed to have dual-zone central A/C, which means that no redesigning would be required to add a second system! This house is over 2,700 square feet, so it needs the extra A/C in my opinion.

I’d rather have 3 big bedrooms as to 4 small.
And I’d get rid of the fireplace. Get gas logs and never worry about a fireplace leaking.
Take it from someone who’s had to crawl around more than 1 attic and find leaks around them.

If you have gas logs, you still have a fireplace. That's what my parents' house has...

Yeah, my parents' house does have a vent outside. When my parents had the house built, they had a choice of either a gas fireplace or an old-school wood burning one. My parents bought a new townhouse in 2007 and had it built almost from scratch. A wood-burning fireplace was standard, and a gas fireplace was extra-cost. They were not impressed with the performance of the gas fireplace in the model, so they went with the wood-burning one. We lived in that house from September 2007 to March 2016, and I can count the number of times we used the fireplace on one hand. The nieghborhood was built between like 2004 and 2010, and very few people opted for the wood-burning fireplace. In our current house, which my parents bought in 2016, the builder did not charge extra for a gas fireplace. They liked the performance of the gas fireplace and didn't want to deal with maintaining a traditional one, so they got the gas one. We have been satisfied with it so far, as you can turn it on by simply pressing a button...
