Hey all, my '97 Taco has a bad cylinder head - the shop that is looking at it says there's a crack between two of the valves. Can anyone recommend a good online source for remanufactured heads? I want to have a plan "C" incase they cant fix it and I cant find a good core locally. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone have any other sources that they have used with success? Yota1 doesn't answer emails.

Thanks for the tip on Kings. I'm torn between a new head (casting made in China) VS a rebuilt from a online supplier (cylinderhead.com). They both have the same warranty duration.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
For what it is worth I find a good head and have my local Auto machine shop rebuild .

any problems can be addressed in person no shipping causing more problems.

I am to paranoid to deal with people I can not visit in person

    Good luck!

I’ve gotten a new head from Toyota. But you’ll have to do a couple more things that way but don’t have to gamble on eBay and a lot of refurbished heads are I’ve had a bad experience with eBay heads. and with the new head don’t need to go to machine shop either. Easier to replace a motor whole if you the space

Well original one that came from factory failed.....
That would be like someone not paying you for your work....
and then you go right back the next week....

5vz I would use reman heads.......2rz/3rz.....I would go different route......way too many of these with gasket and crack problems.....
there's 3 or 4 new victims that show up here every week...
I'm gonna start from now on ......'HERE WE GO AGAIN'..... white smoke blues.....

Have you called Yota1? Or just email? That’s the only place I would want a reman head.

Thanks for bringing up this point, - I feel if I go with a rebuild from online I'm buying someone else's repair for what its worth. I've been emailing Mike at Kings and it sounds like they have a good foundry that they've worked with for awhile that is turning out good castings. I'll let you know how it goes after I've had the truck together for a few months.

Alot of people sell these heads.......I've seen high end around $5K to 6K on some from lc engineering....
Diff Yota shops on west coast offer mid options (2~4Kish)....like Yota1 and several others...
but I would call and see how the list is......

I needed a ready to go head.....and someone who sells a bunch of em.....guys here steered me toward the king ones....
paid for it on a thursday and picked it up at the fedex office tues morning.....
nobody casts these in america.....all are gonna come from asia......

Bought block from someone completely diff.....someone who does a bunch of the 2rzs, 3rzs, and 5vzs, 2ats, .....ect.

So far study as she goes.....at 9900K........
    While apart I replaced everything....timing/guids.....new oil pump/all seals.....water pump..........didnt want to revisit......

At same time bought a brandnew matching champion radiator.......we....willll...seee....

And switched to Prestone green......its a brave new world.......the 70's....
