Finally installed SPC LR UCAs, full skid plate set, diff drop, new OME shocks and went from the saggy assed 885 to the 886 coil springs up front with 1/4" drivers side shim. Alingment cam bolts/sleeves were pooched so new Lower Control arms and tabs welded back into place. Expensive day but will be good for a few more years.:fingerscrossed:

When I ordered my FN 5 stars I wanted the gun metal color but they didn't have them in stock. This truck confirms I really prefer grey over black. It looks so good

Nice! Did you go with OEM tabs or something else? Thinking I need to do my LCAs soon too. Also, I like the red alignment markings. I bought a 'paint pen' before to mark my drive shaft when I removed it, but didn't work nearly as well as yours. What did you use to make those red alignment marks? Thanks

Been since 16 September that I posted last. Since then not a whole lot has changed. New items include Kickass awning and shower awning, Autoomo 44qt fridge, Rockpals solar panel, traction boards and Timbren Active Bump Stops which have been phenomenal when in really bumpy terrain. Give me a follow on Instagram and Tictok: @be_about_it_overland

This is the grease marker I used. The oem tabs were flatted the F out, gently hammered back with a chisel and layed a mig weld on the outside of it to give it some stucture so it should not fold over again. If it happens again i will go with the permanent tab solution. This way only took a few hours this time around.

Everybody is doing the auto window mod. I’m not cool enough for that .

Instead I did the tighten all the bolts before another Moab wheeling trip mod.
And found the source of the newer vibration. Hassle

So over the years I’ve tried like 5 different iPhone mount in my 2nd gen. I recently installed the Offroam (?) mount and it’s by far, the best one to date. It’s all metal, snug and doesn’t budge when I’m on the trail. I love that it fits in the corner of the air vent but doesn’t lock the vent nor obscure the air flow. This thing is a must if you have a 2nd gen..

Came up with a solution that allows me full access of the back while leaving the canoe loaded. Using a soft top with no exo-rack means my rear support comes off the hitch and doesn’t allow me to drop the gate. This fixes it. Game changer for those late night campground arrivals.
Just watch your knees when the canoe is off!

I'm pretty sure these are a safety item for what they call the overlap crash test. It keeps the front tire from stuffing into the firewall and hitting your feet in a front end collision. I previously worked at an OEM+ aftermarket company that made dealer installed upgrade packages, and we determined it was there for safety so we shouldn't remove it.
