Oh there will be some mods all right
@CygnusX191 Mr mechanic man, how does the ebrake work work on 3rd gen Tacomas? Like does it just activate the same way with same parts as if you are hitting the brake pedal? Only reason I ask is I was messing with it a little on gravel roads and it feels somewhat violent. Like there is a little delay and then a thump when it activates and I was curious what exactly was occurring :D

It’s a cable that runs to the rear axel

I knew that, I was just curious if the cable activated the exact same parts as braking or if there was a separate mechanism attached with the cable. I'm mainly just wondering if repeated use for tomfoolery would cause any damage and or issues lol. My thinking was it'd be fine because it would be just like hitting the brakes but wanted to confirm that was true.

Nah if anything it’ll save you the issues of it seizing up from never being used lol

It engages your rear drums. On rare submersible in the winter occasions, the spring release can freeze and "lock" your e brake on..... Just put it in lo range to pop it open and then you're good.

That being said if you're fooling around with handbrake turns... Get somebody to film it. But no it really shouldn't hurt anything. Turn your traction control off for best results (press and hold overhead switch for 10 seconds)
