I'm curious how a 2023 could be built, when I can't even configure a 2023 on toyotas website.. I'm just frustrated because I'm waiting for an allocation since Nov21

what does it mean by they held points on it? Thank you for letting me know. I don’t even think she checked, she just said I didn’t qualify. How can I cancel those? I may check around and see if I can get a better rate while it’s still considered new.

Dealers can bump up your rate to get more money on the kick back of the loan. Say for example you got a approve for 5% they can make that 7%. Most bank allow dealers to hold 2% points.

To cancel the extra points the only way is to refinance with another lender. The average rate for new cars is around 4% at the moment, without any special offers.
To cancel the warranties you can contact the finance Mgr that help with the loan.

You can refinance as early as today, if you do once the cancellations of warranty's goes thru they will mail you a check for the reimbursement. Or you can cancel the extras, wait for them to come off the original loan and refinance a lower amount than the original.

I meant to imply for the next truck. Having recently purchased a Tacoma, I realize how scarce some of these are.

May i ask what state you're in? That's absolutely wild! My score is barely over 700 and i qualified for the 1.9% through Toyota Financial without gap or extended warranty. That's one of the worst dealership experiences i've ever read about man. I'd refinance that shit asap.

The web site configurator has absolutely nothing to do with what the factories are doing. The basis for my comments was the temporary VIN posted by @Dierte which shows a week 36 (positions 12 and 13 of the temporary VIN) build and a "P" in the 10th position which indicates a 2023 model year vehicle. Given my week 34 build shows an "N" in the 10th position, this means some time between weeks 34 and 36, Toyota is switching over from 2022 to 2023.

Might be worth a try to write to these folks I'm sure they would love to hear about it. Won't change how you were treated but might save someone from the same awful treatment

Afternoon @Rod03, would you be able to check VIN 3TMCZ5AN4NM520961 for me? Losing hope I will be able to make that Sept. 6th Toyota promotional rate cutoff.

Spec sheets says the truck was build 08/19, that is all I can see being a SE Toyota truck.
