    measure up my exposure , make a few microscopic pencil ticks , shoot on the ledger with 18GA brad nails between shingles so the holes are basically invisible from 3' away



    After the shingles get shot on with 1 1/2" x 1/4" Stainless Steel crown staples , I come back , pre-drill through the shingles and hand nail in some of these Simpson Stainless narrow ring shank Shake and Shingle nails with the world's most expensive hammer



    Back side all installed except the 2 little triangles on the outsides of the lower timbers , I need to sand about a dozen more shingles , i just ran out

    I took a pic of the unsanded starter course to show the difference in appearance to the sanded

    All full of shitty rust and water stains and dirt , so happy I spent the time I did sanding them

    Milled face is only good for framing , I use the same hammer for framing , siding , finishing etc

    Finished up a few details , added gable trims at shingle to soffit transition and back siding is all complete
