I will have to take a look at mine tonight, i only recall not liking how much it wobbles around, but not a split. I think the butt plug would still help. Dont shoot it much, being .300. Go with the .223 more, cause $, lol.

I had a Winkler Knight Hawk for a while but sold it. Love Winkler knives and own several, but something about the balance of the axe didn't feel right to me. Maybe the Sayocs are better, but I'd still take an Estwing or Hults/Gransfor Bruk for everyday camp/work chores. The Winkler axes are mostly intended as breaching/fighting tools.
