    Greetings,
    2007 DCSB

I see there's a couple of good posts on removing the headliner from the front.

However, all i need to do is remove the rear part of the headliner, above the passenger seats (long story).

Besides removing the coat hooks, is there anything else holding headliner up against the roof?

None of the write ups or videos about taking the headliner down from the front really cover anything about removing it from the rear.

Pics would be helpful. but i'll take written directions.

    TIA,
    Dave

I did insurance replacement for decades. I went to your house, work, golf course, whatever... to replace yoyr stolen or vandalized vehicle interior, the reason you're only seeing videos removing the headliner from the front and not the back is because that's the correct way to do it. I'm not writing that it can't be done, I'm writing that's not how it's done.

I pulled down about a quarter of my headliner, driver side rear, to access the tpms module a while back. I don't remember it being terribly difficult and everything went back together easily, but I have an access cab so ymmv.

    Understood.

As I stated, I’m not looking to do an entire removal, just the rear part, back by the passenger seats.

So I am just looking to know what it’s holding the back part up.

I removed the headliner in my 07 AC ten years ago or so when I gutted the interior to install a sound deadening system. As i recall, the headliner wasn't that bad, but then again it wasn't a double cab. Pro Tip: keep your hands clean.
    Here's a video, maybe a start.

    Thanks.

already watched that video. Part 1 and part 2. Very detailed on front removal, not the back part. Video creator just rushed through back.

i even went through his write up and his pictures on Flickr.

Wasn’t really helpful for the rear.

i have no interest in removing the pillar covers and the visors and all that just to get to the rear roof section.

The rear is held up by the hangers, the grab handles and the c pillar plastics. To remove the plans it covers you need to remove the lower trim pieces. Really, if you take some time and start removing things, you’ll see what’s in your way as you go along. I’d also recommend pulling the dole light and b pillar trim.

To save the headliner from torque stressing, I'd remove all the plastics/hardware to be able to maneuver the headiner around without removing and see if you can do what you need to do.

    Good morning, all.

thank you all for your suggestions. That coupled with a few videos got the rear part of the headliner down so I could check out the roof.

only broke one hanger clip in the process.

Guessing kids had a ball hit the roof on my 2010 DCLB. Would like to drop the headliner and tap the damage out.

You folks are saying forward and aft headliners. My truck has a one piece headliner it seems, unless I am overlooking something. Did the DCLB have a one piece headliner, because that looks to be a pain to remove?

sorry. It’s a 1 piece. When I say “rear” im referring to the rear passenger area in a DCSB, aft of the dome light.

if you’re taking the while thing off, refer to the video linked in one of the earlier threads. Very comprehensive. There is even a text write up and Flickr album associated with it.
