Yep I drive that all the time. IMO the SS3's are great for the wide spread in heavy rain/snow on Hwy 2.

And the stock Tundra LED's are pretty crap....

Crash, hwy 2 through the Cascades is very similar to our hwy 3 in BC that rounds a parallel northern route. I live on hwy 3 in Central BC. But your hwy 20 through the Cascades is still my favorite when it is open.

I went with the DD pro lights because of the taller beam pattern for lower speed winding roads and forested winding dirt roads.

Bought some DD Pros and opened the box and surprise Morimoto HXBs inside?! Crazy how it be like that...

I finished paint matching my steel bumper and I'm really excited to throw the HXBs in the fog holes and DD Pros on pillar ditch light brackets or the center bar.

Not bad for a garage paint job!

    Edit;

Is it acceptable to clock the fogs outward?

As a fellow f150er I can tell you in conditions that completely wash out the crappy stock LED headlights the max yellows are still there shining brightly and doing their thing.

Highway 20 is absolutely beautiful even though it is a pretty hazardous roadway and closed much of the year. But it is closed for good reason in the winters.

Snowblowers working to reopen the highway in the spring.

Even better to cross the highway in late summer when the snow has melted so you can really appreciate the views. Zero chance I'd attempt this highway in the kind of white out snow storms seen across highway 2, even if it was still open.

It should be ok to clock fogs outward.
F regulation does not define R and L combined beam evaluation, but equivalent evaluation is allowed in F3 regulation such as side specific coverage lamp

applying same concept, to keep combined beam acceptable as fog, I would say 15-20 degree to outward the most

It’s important to note 4B HXB also require 4.5D aim to use as on-road fog lamp to prevent glare

My simulator allows evaluating side-specific aim combined beam.

And here is an estimation of 20 degrees outward aim of 4Bnager HXB. At 20-degree outward aim, the beam center on the wall shot, you will see about 40% intensity reduction, but still remain above 13,000Cd equivalent ( as single side fog lamp ). And same as SS3s, peak intensity below 4D won't even be in the driver view range.

You will not experience a hot spot void at the beam center straight view. And gain far outer reaching width.

For comparison, this is the original aim ( no outward adjust) This shall illustrate beam impression difference by the horizontal aim variation.

I’ve tried searching and sorry if I missed it, but was there a test on the DD SSC1 SAE pods?

    thanks!

Anyone know if the KC G4 will fit a 2010? KC materials says 2012+, but I thought all 2nd Gens had the same style fogs.

G4s only fit 2012+. 05-11 have a different fog light mount design.

I know this probably gets asked every once in a while in a thread of this length. I am in the market for 3x3 fog pods for my Coastal front bumper.

As of Octoberish 2022, what are the best lights for the money? I am not looking for the best of the best, but a good solid replacement for the OEM ones I removed.

Based on what I have tested, I would recommend the SS3 Sports or SS3 Max in selective yellow for poor weather use. Sports will be insufficient to melt snow if that is a consideration.

BAMF Mount came with all the mounting hardware for it and the DD lights had their own.

One thing I did was to make two cutouts in the grill for the lights.

I also made a wire harness that taps to the HighBeam fuse under the hood so they come on with the high beams and I also taped into the in cab fusebox so I can turn them on independently using a 3 way switch from anytime backup camera.
