Forgot to mention I went on a last minute planned trip to an air show in South Padre last weekend. F-22, F-18, random other stuff, and an unscheduled appearance by a billionaire who used to fly airshows in his arctic camo painted MiG-29.

Splitting fuel costs with my pilot friends was cheaper than driving. And I’d chauffeur the guys around in the borrowed car to not be all dead weight.

That sucks. Hate wiring issues and im about to have them.

Beautiful area. Thats awesome! what did you fly there in?

    @Sperrunner

Will hanging the bikes like this throw my rims outta whack?

Yeah I’m barely 6’ and my head touched the roof with a headset on in the back.

I’ve also rode along on shorter trips in a Diamond 40 and we had to pack one duffel bag each and leave one seat empty. So it was nice being able to bring some stuff and use all 4 seats.

Idk what a diamond 40 is. Im literally the only male in my family who does not have a private at the very least. My cousins are all rated in everything that flies and own amphibious planes and helis. I chose cars. im stupid.

The happiest days of my life were when I had my framing business. Work 2/3 of the week with the crews and chase payments the other 10/3rds:rofl:

Framing is tough but everyone I know who has framing co's makes made money. My first construction job was hauling 2x's and ply up to framers on second story in that lovely florida heat all day. I hated it.

2008 and a divorce stuck a fork in me. I really liked to just go build. Give me a complicated stick roof and a good cut man and I was in heaven.

Former sparky, work as a program manager for a large GC that builds data centers for all the big players (book of faces, alphabet Co, a fruit company etc). Would almost go back to field work to get rid of the stress, but the perks of a program role are pretty badass. Lots of "offsite meetings" like golfing, fishing and other adventure trips. Working as a sparky gave me a taste of the red stuff...

Damn...Very nice setup. That's what Im talking about. Non stop stuff you buy and end up with. I have a snap on 4 drawer cart and a scaffold full of impacts. I have to make tools on a weekly basis. It sucks.

@Kwikvette check out the sweet stuff for g-rage.

I'm a split system person too right now. Bosch and Milwaukee (agree the 1/2" impact is great, I've used it for a lot more than I thought) with some random singles from others, like a backup corded DeWalt drill and a Craftsman cordless nail gun which has been surprisingly good. Planning on giving my Bosch 12 and 18 stuff to the folks so there is a good set at their house when needed and replacing with red. Looks like a couple sales at HD for Labor Day so hopefully pick some up.

What are you currently riding on trails/singletrack? I'm gonna sell my Sequoia and switch up to ride more trail. Doc gave me the go-ahead with my old man back. Don't have tons to spend though, maybe $2K. I like to ride before I buy when I can, one local has a Kona Mahuna in and another has a Roscoe 7, I thought I'd make some stops this weekend. Bummer is availability is still pretty bad everywhere around here so I may have to end up ordering online.

ok cool. Just wanted to make sure about hangers

I used to ride sun double tracks w profile hubs but sold them w another bike. I wanted spanks but when shopping for them a few years ago I found out that in my time away from bikes, 26” shit is like out the door and it’s hard to even find good wheels new. I couldn’t find spanks anywhere at the time. So, went w those cheap NSA’s or whatever they are.

Bikes have gotten super cool lately. Saw a car in my neighborhood w 2 brand new giant slope style/downhill bikes on top. Prob 3-4” travel and they were fucking cool as shit looking. Afraid to even look at the prices these days though.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I dont single track and alot of like black diamonds rock gardens.
Are you looking for a Full suspension bike? Or a hardtail? You will get alot more for your money on a hardtail and can hit just about anything a FS bike can. Just a less comfy lol
