While the sweet whiskeys are too much for a regular sipper they are great with my sweet smokes.

Anyone give me a breakdown on this Blade & Bow stuff? Is it just about collecting keys like you collect horses? The local place has it for about $60.

Side note: there's a local bar I go to sometimes for the incredible wings. Whiskey choices are limited so I usually opt for the WT101. Tonight the bartender tells me they keep the good stuff in the back, just ask for it next time. BT, Eagle Rare and Blanton's. Well ok then Mrs bartender. I'll take you up on that next time.

First impressions: Punches above its proof. That's a good thing. Nose and front end of palate with a lot of citrus (didn't expect that), back end and finish is 100% Wild Turkey funk.

Overall: Good. Definitely worth the price if you like WT already. Just shy of "I need to go get a second bottle". Better than any celebrity-associated bourbon has a right to be, but Eddie Russell signed off on it, so I am not surprised.

    Appreciate that!

But around here, in these times, it’s a crapshoot. Most of the good things I have were from either the good fortune of a small local military base package store, fruit of a trade, private purchase, or out of state travel.

Example of the local situation: McKenna 10 year, not a particularly super popular or rare bourbon but it’s allocated down here and popular enough that the three bottles per store that my local county got were gone in days. It hasn’t been in a local store in probably over a year. I was lucky that @jandrews snagged me one from the next county over. It doesn’t matter if I know the exact week the stuff hits, it may not come into any local store, or it may not get shipped from the central warehouse to here until weeks later. The only thing I can do is make weekly rounds which, quite frankly, gets old. I’ve learned to love the one I’m with, or at least appreciate the bottles I have.

Get all 5 keys, send a photo to the distillery, they engrave a glass that you have to pick up there.

It’s pretty good, but I won’t buy it again because it’s a good $40 bottle not a good $60 bottle.

mcKenna 10 is allocated in the entire country. And had a nationwide price increase to retailers as of June 1. Just like many Heaven Hill products.

It will be hard to find it for $50 anywhere moving forward.

    Not much stock left.
That’s fair. I assumed it was being used in the generic sense.

The two I got were $55. Hoping I can find a couple more but...not holding my breath.

It’s a data point for how difficult it would be to snag a Stagg, even if I knew the week it was releasing.

How much tho? My experience in Jersey is you can find anything if your pockets are deep enough. Also where at in Hunterdon? I grew up in Asbury in Warren.

What you doing down in my neck of the woods? You are pretty far from home no?

It has, for sure, the best cork I have encountered in a bottle in a long time.

Ever had Frey Ranch? This cork is like solid brass, could do some serious damage with it haha

I had a rare day off, spent the morning mucking out the goat barn, then I decided to go for a drive. I get 10% off at Tomars with my club membership

Wow that’s two votes. Guess I shouldn’t try that.
