No shit. I was at a bike shop 10 years ago and it was easy to spend $5k on a bike. No thanks, my $400 bike (on sale), from 2005 is perfectly fine

My cheap wheels are all I need these days. I save my body for the truck. Lol

True! @Sperrunner is in his prime of riding so it’s worth it if you’re into it. I do miss DH riding.

Def going hard tail. I'd much rather go higher price hard tail than entry/low full suspension. If I can get something decently kitted off the bat that also has a good upgrade path that would be the best.

Nice, thanks. I've never ridden a Nukeproof. That's a solid price too. Now I'll go down a YouTube rabbit hole.

But really, this is the real reason why.

Spent a few minutes doing some wire wheel rust removal -

    20220903_090438.jpg

Some light cleaning with acetone to remove any and all dirt and oils -

    20220903_090805.jpg

Not going for show-quality, but I do appreciate a nice strong paint that sprays and dries nicely -

    20220903_091446.jpg

Finally found use for this helper; I've had it sitting on the ground the longest. It could be used to hold shit I need to paint -

    20220903_102744.jpg

    All done and hung -

    20220903_102347.jpg

I really dig it, just need to add other shit to the wall -

Kinda. We have 2 concrete crews and 2 steel erection:beavisd:crews. We are currently looking to get them all hired on with other companies and get out of self performing any trade work.

I'm probably just going to go Milwaukee like everyone else. There's too many different chargers, batteries and tools bouncing around the tool boxes and none of them compatible. That 1/2" impact has been awesome zipping in Titan anchors.

Not a hardtail, but Revel is having a Labor Day sale--20% off select in-stock items. That brings the GX-spec Ranger build down under $5k... which may or may not sound reasonable depending on what else you've looked at: https://www.revelbikes.com/our-bikes/ranger/

A bunch of people I know have Rangers and really like them. That green is gorgeous, too.

That's fair. I (kinda) design and build concrete saws and hydraulic powerpacks, and out of all my years working with construction tools and power equipment , I have never met anyone that's as hard on tools as concrete guys lol

Concrete guys are the worst . Rough environment though. Funny how they can kill a basically brand new power tool but have been using the same hand tools for years.

    Fucking A cotton

Knew one guy that came to my rental yard who took a relatively new, power screed for a month rental.... had it absolutely demolished in under a week. When he dropped it off bitching about how new stuff is junk (mind you it looked like he got a blade stuck and it just sat there and spun on itself and he "shut it down" by dropping an iron form wall on it lol) he kept going on about how he'd be better off sticking with ol faithful. Proceeded to point to a hand screed that had to he 20yrs old with a blade that might as well have been a chefs knife it was so thin.

I have a saying for concrete guys "give em 2 solid ball bearings in a sealed padded room. They're gunna lose one, and break the other"
