    Don't downplay it!

Hypertherm is very conservative with how they rate their stuff; betting that could cut more than it's rated for.

    Got air for it yet?

I actually forgot, it's so damn hard to get most Hypertherm stuff that we dont see much of it anymore. I dont think the SYNC is worth the difference in larger machines but you dont have a choice. To me it's a marketing thing, they have patents on it so you can only buy Hypertherm.

yea just the typical CH horizontal 20 gallons. It might be the limiting factor especially if I am looking into getting a cnc table

Will dry/clean the air with this

bought it since I went down another rabbit hole when I painted my car. Might as well use it. Probably overkill but it’s just collecting dust.

I never touch a plasma before so didn’t know it was hard getting a hold of consumables. I bought a pack hopefully it last me awhile.

Mount the dryer as close to the plasma machine as possible. I made a bracket that sits on my Power Max 900.

    I use a Motor guard M-26 filter.

50,000 F degrees does not play well with moisture.

Getting consumables was never a problem but the last few years.

Everything has been a problem the last few years. Hypertherm was quoting us 3 and 4 month lead times on some of the 420 series consumables. We had customers shutting down for short periods because they could not get consumables for Hypertherm plasma or Bernard mig guns. Had a few customers buy new Thermal Dynamics plasmas just to keep running. Profax makes a Bernard style diffuser to convert the Bernard to Tweco style consumables. Sold a few of those as well. Bernard/Tregaskiss and Hypertherm seem the worst hit.

December 2020 was my last working day at that time things were not that bad yet.

I din`t miss that part of the job. Last I talked at least the quoted prices on parts were being honored with no clue of ship dates it has been a few months.

At least I have every thing I should need as far as consumables.

I was really jealous of the few places Climate Controlled one company made portable stage sets for many famous acts for road tours.

It seems you cook in the summer and freeze in the winter

Nothing like welding when your clothing and gloves are soaked for getting those little Shocks High Frequency was the worst.

Our work technically has heaters but the building is so huge and the gigantic bay doors open and close so much that everyone is wearing two or three layers and still freezing ha. Layers are key though. Being able to quickly adjust. Don’t want to be sweaty in the winter even more than in the summer.

Your work has become a permanent addition to the garage; thank you!

We are very far apart on how a Mess is defined .

Then it is still pretty new in your case.

I like keeping table tops free and clear of stuff that doesn't permanently belong there; my OCD drives me nuts

The parts on the wood bench are bumper swing-out parts, and the welding table has the base of my bumper on it and unwelded parts.

That and I need to make a stand for the new chop saw.

Lets say this since 1990 if there is a flat surface there may be years of interesting things piled on top.

Scrap tends to go on the scrap pile then that leads to another discussion just what is scrap.

    I gotta go take pictures!!

My scrap pile is actually 4 separate piles separated by possible use. I’ll purge them ever so often when things get out of hand but there’s always that “I can make small mounting tabs out of this” feeling right before I throw something out.

I've gathered an entire 27 gallon tote full of scrap lol but it's clean stuff I can (and have) use.

I do have a box of scraps I need to recycle; school has taught me well enough what to toss

Dammit...you're making me want to revisit that box in case I can reuse any of it.

    Thank you for the compliment.

You got the last one. I hope to run another dozen or so this winter .

You can thank @Kilo Charlie for starting this. He posted some Toyota history and I ran with it.

    Hey now

I was showing my buddy how to weld last weekend, not to mention cutting the shit out of my rear crossmember on the Land Cruiser.

    20220827_110428.jpg

Then the weekend before I was showing my buddy and a Yota club member how to weld as well making a mess everywhere.

I just clean up after any and every thing I do :anonymous:
